I think Eddrick Loften changed his name and is giving it one more shot. I highly doubt Kameel (cuh-meel) Jackson will ever make it to UT. I hope I'm wrong the kid can play.
I think that is where we are. Ya have to wonder how this all went down.
Call comes into CBJ, "Hey coach this is Kameel Jackson". "Me and my buddy JJ would like to be Vols".
CBJ: "Ya any good"?
KJ: "Hell yeah"!! "Check out Youtube and call us back"!
-CBJ and staff pushes play-
CBJ call them back: "Come on down'!
-Twitter goes crazy-
The End.
I know Kameel Jackson committed per twitter but I still have my doubts whether CBJ was expecting it or not. Either way I can't see him actually getting in school. Just my opinion though
Not sure what you mean by this? It sounds like your saying CBJ didn't know he was going to commit? Being head coach I'm sure he knew and accepted Jackson's and Johnson's commitment.
you may be right but this kid dropped out of ULM less then a month ago to get his grades up to "juco level". How could CBJ possibly have confidence that he will make the grades to get into UT.
He's completely basing it off the kid having previous grade issues, and it's a legitimate concern. JUCO's usually do a decent job at getting kids eligible, but they usually struggle immensely when they get back to four-year institution and half their classes don't count.
Could be like the Patrick commitment. Most felt it was only good if he qualified. CBJ could have told the kid he would take his commitment, but he has to get the work done for it to mean anything.
I understand. I know he has grade issues, that's been gone over quite a bit around here.
But that's his past. If he still does, why would Butch offer him (atleast at this point in time)?
I'm not sure that's a big deal at this point. IF he can get in, he will have a whole season to play and his grade problems (if any) would not allow him to play the following season or bowl game. But that's way in the future.
Fort:
Johnson is a take if he an get out in May or this summer. The staff feels like they need some depth with only six scholarship receivers. As for Jackson, he's a December graduate and so he's a 2014 guy.

More on Kameel Jackson...
I will have a full story up in a few minutes. Here's the cliffs. Azzanni saw him play in the Blinn spring game on Thursday night. Offered right after that game. Jackson spoke with Azzanni and Jones on Friday. Prayed about it Friday night and committed around lunchtime today.
He has 2 to play 2 and his plan is to graduate from Blinn in December and be here in January.
6-2, 208. Tennessee was first to offer him this spring.

Something else that is important to Jackson is the opportunity to play with his brother. Kenzee is also considered to be a top notch receiver in his own right and led the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex in receiving last season before tearing his ACL in the fourth game of the year. He had 319 yards and five touchdowns prior to the injury.
"I also hope that the school has interest in my brother," the younger Jackson said. "We want to play together and that should be the No. 1 thing I want to do."

This sounds a bit too Bryce Brownish for my tastes. Sort of having a pre-demand outlook. Don't think Butch buying into it, hope not. brother has 4.6 speed and is a WR? I think we need faster guys at WR but then again, I'm not a coach so. . . . In any case, I don't think the fanbase is in a mood for another Bryce Brown experience. Plus the kid has jumped around in his commitment. wanted to go to the next level? Previous schools of Oregon and Oklahoma would have made that possible. No offense to anybody including Kameel but I'm a bit uneasy about this apparent commit. Still, maybe the fact that so many Jones players got drafted is a factor for the kid so I may shooting my mouth off unfairly. :twocents:
