'14 JUCO TX WR Kameel Jackson (UT walk-on)

Does anyone else question them throwing a ranking up so fast? How much film did they really watch?

I'm fine with it. Better to have a rating than none at all. They adjust them as needed as the year goes on. He should end up being at least a 4 star in the end.

“The Big 12 is a great conference that I think helped me be ready for the SEC."

LOL!!

It probably did help him. The big 13 throws it around and has had good WR's and QB's. Now if he was a defensive that thats a different story. But this guy was a 4* and was offered by Kiffin and other big schools. This is a great JUCO pich up.

We will have 11 WRs this fall and if nobody leaves we will s thign 5 or 6 this year. 17 scholarships on receivers is too much imo

Think they know what they are doing. How many WR's played in the spring game? You never know how many injuries you will have and with all these young guys who knows who will pan out and who will get buried on the depth chart. Croom, Carter, Harris and Blanc were nursing injuries and not to mention Meredith. By time the 2014 class comes in who will be Jr's that could leave early or Sr's?
This staff knows what they are doing. Carter, Dallas and Young will be SR's when the
2014 class comes in.

Naw, I've never been nor claimed abduction and am not exactly sure it happens. I just know what I've seen. Plus folks who haven't seen the things think it authorizes them to laugh at those who have. I honestly think I'd probably laugh too if I hadn't seen them myself. I don't mean twinkling lights that could be anything, but actual crafts that didn't obey the laws of gravity, motion, and inertia as taught in science class.

Laughing my f****** a** off.

Yes, usually later on. Probably a 5.6-5.7

He was originally a 4 star. I dont see why his rating would decline, especially after making the starting line-up at OU as a Fr. and with an additional season at Juco under his belt. That should at least qualify him as a 5.8 - 6.0 in my worthless evalu-pinion. Jmo dont tifwiw.

People need to relax, 4 star out of highschool and things didn't work where he went so what. If everything is squared away with him it will be a great pick up. Making the field at OU as a freshmen no matter if it was two games against Hellen Keller U, still impressive. CBJ sees the need so I'm not going to doubt him, hasn't done anything so far to make us thing otherwise.
Welcome Kameel! Continue to work hard and pursue your goals at UT brotherman.

247 rated him a .8600 3 star this morning. Moves us up to 3rd place in the team standings.

That sounds like a number they threw up there because they haven't evaluated him yet. I think this is a heck of a pickup. He must still have all the ability and must be in relatively good shape if he was offered on the spot at his spring game. At 6'2 208 it sounds like he just filled out his frame a little better. He sounds like a nightmare if that 4.42 40 is accurate. He's already gotten a few starts at the college level so he can probably handle the transition to playing better competition alot more easily since he pretty much knows what he's getting into already and how to prepare for it.

Can anyone explain to me what happened here other than him and his teammate committing? I don't think anyone saw this coming and I'm baffled as to why we took the commitment.

Jackson is good. He saw the field as a frosh when they had some good talent there already on campus at OU. On Johnson, you just gotta trust coach Z liked him enough to think he could play

Thanks, I saw where he was a high rated WR out of HS, and had some great praise at OU before being dismissed. I'm hoping UT is only accepting JUCO's that will be EE's?

Seems that way. Both Jackson and Lauderdale are EE's. Only ones coach Z Seems high on.

Article on Jackson from Dec. 2011:

Cornerback Demontre Hurst, who has had several one-on-one battles with Jackson in practice, can tell the difference in Jackson's performance from August until now.

"Kameel has grown as a player, he's been highly motivated all year, he's been working hard," Hurst said. "I could see from the start of fall camp to now that's he's really improved. The game has slowed down for him and that makes it a lot easier."

While Jackson aims to mimic Broyles' bowl game production in his first-ever bowl game, the freshman already has one trait that helped Broyles become the most productive receiver in OU history.

Competitiveness.

Asked where Jackson ranks among the Sooners receivers in terms of their competitiveness, Hurst said: "He's up there... probably no less than 1 or 2. A young guy who is eager to make plays and make a name for himself."

Jayson Swain with Kameel when he was a rising Senior. I bet he'll have something on his show about him tomorrow.

My buddy who plays WR at ULM text me about this guy. Said he is a beast! I'm pumped about this pick up! Get your minds right people! Nothing to be confused about! We picked up another Bad@$$ right here!

Maybe he'll start posting again.

On second thought, this place would probably make him de-commit. :lolabove:

27 seconds - almost takes a screen pass to the house.
and 4:45 - makes an incredibly tough and clutch catch, while showing off some great concentration.
