As much as I love Butch as our coach, this is the one thing he didn't do...

Your right but he really didnt have the defensive players to stop our high powerrd offense. Cincy had a good bit of success on our D and we had a decent D that year under Wilcox. If I remember correctly Cincy had a few 4th and shorts that they couldnt convert and if they had it could have been much closer. But truely their offense gave our D fits, they just didnt have the speed or size on D to stop our playmakers.

Heck, we offered late last week, and we immediately became the third team in the running for his services. That should tell you that we have a pretty good shot. From all the reports, prior to the offer, we hadn't even really been talking to him, had we? I'm gonna let the Butch do his thing.

“kentucky i would just say because it’s close, and the new coaching staff there and it’s really turning things around for me.

Again, according to C Williams the DT spots are full, and our coaches are telling (potential) DL recruits we are full but still recruiting them. Could Elam be one of those guys? Maybe, I haven't followed his recruitment as close as others. But if his friendship has developed well with big Charles then maybe there is a chance.
