'14 KY DT Matt Elam

Not sure if it has been discussed anywhere, but given the way that Butch is recruiting like we have more positions available than 30, is it possible that maybe Eric is planning to pay for his brothers' school to save the scholarship spots? I don't know if that would be a NCAA rules violation or not...maybe some NCAA rules guys can enlighten me on that subject. Just seems like Butch is recruiting like we are taking more than 30 players even when you factor in attrition.

Better to be safe than sorry. As far as the Berry brothers go, I would not expect anyone to pay for them. They deserve scholarships and I think it would be an insult not to give them schollies. JMO

This having no room problem certainly beats having only 9 commitments in December. I have to keep reminding myself that. Butch could easily sign 40 players this year

No kidding. Do you think he will ever get his 4th star?

Surely to God he will. He should be knocking on the door of a fifth already with a 100 tackles on his resume and good offensive numbers as well. Freakin beast

I agree. It's almost criminal. The people who evaluate players need to check their vision. Guy is a stud and should at the least be a mid to high 4*.

Looks like he's got AL and UK scheduled Dec 14th and 20st. Maybe we get a Dec 7th visit. He announces at the All American bowl on Jan 4th so we've got a lot of ground to make up in a short amount of time. I think the coaches will probably put more of their effort into the JUCO DTs.

Their recruiting class will probably been fine. Kentucky's recruits are being sold on the future not the present.

That's a cute line to sell recruits, and looks good when you can be competitive and get some wins. I know Butch is doing the same thing, But 2-10 doesn't do a whole lot of talking on it's own.

We'll see.

Plus the resources, passion, and tradition for football exist for UT, just needs to be reignited, whereas UK has never had it, unless you count the Bear days.

Doesn't the red team count the Bear days too? So the red team and the blue team will now count the Bear days....
:loco:

Comparing UT's to UK's situation in football is like comparing a greyhound to a wiener dog. He can be an athletic, good player on a great team and program, or a blocking dummy for the rest of the SEC. His choice.

I feel sorry for any UK football fan that truly believes that. Because on NSD they will be very disappointed. The class will still be solid for a UK recruiting class. But you cant sell a future vision to recruits and then not even be competitive or at least show vast improvement throughout the season.

I'm not sure if its really improvement or not, but for what it's worth they gave Mississippi State a run for their money last night.

You really have to feel bad for Mark Stoops. I bet he's probably a pretty decent coach, but we'll likely never get the chance to find out because Kentucky.

Mississippi State is terrible. Last night was the perfect storm for UK to pull out a win, between all the injuries State had last night, and all the boneheaded penalties (including the ejection of their best DB) they continued to get that kept UK in the game.

All I know is UK's staff looks totally incompetent out there on the sidelines. Maybe having all those guys "under 45" isn't the smartest thing in the world ...something he's tried to sell to recruits. The whole hype that Stoops family gets is rather ridiculous IMO.
