'14 MD LB Jerome Dews (UT Commit 6/24)

I think he has to answer that question, Coach Thigpen is a big reason, he and Deandre Payne have been friends since Pop Warner, but for he most part i think he would have to tell you to be honest with you.

Doesn't really matter, just curious. Thanks and God bless.

Were you or were you not called out by a vandy coach wU?

The people demand answers.

Since we're in on this Q&A session, I'd like to know what he eats for breakfast, what's his favorite color, and his best 5k time.

I kid, I kid...

Seriously though, having a LB that is a track athlete speaks volumes about the future of the defense in K-town. No more Dooley swiss-cheese defense.

Dews haters in this thread:

I'm still not sure how I feel about Dews. I was definitely confused when he first got the offer. However, it has become very apparent that this staff knows what they hell they are doing. I think it is a great idea to greyshirt him and let him bulk up for a year before he gets on campus. One thing is for certain he can find the QB. You don't have 35 sacks without doing something right (regardless of competition).

Wait guys....

So when people said Zach Stewart and even Todd Kelly Jr. played bad competition, it's ok. Nothing about them as a player, only their competition.

When I say that about Dews' competition, I'm Harvey Updyke and part of the idiotic fanbase, and even posing as a fan of another team.

Makes sense.

Dude--you should name your avi EUWADA...Eat Up With A Dumb Azz....He's the poster boy for that...

It's okay--Fulmer and his entire staff passed over Patrick Willis because he only played 1-A in Tennessee...and Randall Cobb, too for nobody knows why....

And then look at Chris Donald...had all the measurables and turns into a bust for the SEC....

Recruiting is ANYTHING but an exact science...:salute:

I 100% agree with this TK2 played against terrible competition all 4 years in HS except for a game or two with Alcoa and Maryville. Watching his highlights you'll see what i mean.

With that said, he's a beast athlete who projects to do extremely well as a Vol. No reason Mr. Dews can't do the same!

Lol with your last statement, I've said multiple times he is a great athlete and the best player on the film

#stalker

funny how he wont answer

Typical behavior is to get called out by coaches and your own teams players on twitter

Just leave HarveyVol, aka wU-Tang Vol alone. :p

Seriously though. wU is a great poster with great insights who brings a lot to this site.

Let him play a game before the criticism, some of yall forget yall dealing with children, after next year when he considered an adult, criticize away!

People forget that young Mr. Dews is a year behind his peers. From both a scouting and real-world perspective that makes him all the more amazing as a player and young man. When you scout future players you scout them against how they play against similar competition and being physically behind a year in age MATTERS (it's why so many baseball players have been caught lying about being how young they were to make their potential and status grow). And his age versus older players is what is catching attention - he's competing when he's not grown and still whooping butt.

Dews is more than good enough now but with another year or couple months and we all know that these a critical months/years for a young man his age, he will be absolutely amazing. Whether he redshirts, grayshirts, or plays now -- he will be better once his body has found where it will be physically.

velovol,

If you can find where I was called out by coaches, I will never post here again. But it didn't happen.

As far as I'm concerned you can sit and spin

Eh, fans are fans. Most of us are idiots when it comes to evaluation just like the sites that actually grade recruiting. Dontavis Sapp was a 2 star I believe and was criticized by some.

Was he serious about that? I thought it was all a running joke...

Why in the hell would a Vandy coach take the time of day to call out an anonymous message board poster?
