It all depends. If he shows up at 275+, I say yes.

He may very well start out at DT but I think he will get a long look at SDE with his athletic ability. I think he will be in the rotation somewhere next year. Jmo

Just a few 3rd and longs??

I think he starts as a DE.

If a freshmen is going to make an impact, DE is the position that is easiest IMO.

Keep in mind that these 17 year olds have their own language. Kids in my youth group do the "right now" thing a lot.

"Right now I'm just trying to pass my tests."

"I'm wanting to make the basketball team right now."

That's how I interpret Barnett's statement.

Scout had a video of this interview. Imo it was used in this context. Nothing to worry about

Barnett seemed super solid. Referred to UT as "we" several times. Really trusts Butch Jones. Said he really appreciated the 6 staff members that showed up. Told the fans to be patient. He has no plans on being on the bench his freshman year. He wants to firmly be in the rotation.
