"My first phone call with them was (Tuesday)," Norman said. "I've been getting mail from them for a while. It was kind of unexpected.
"They've liked me for a while. They said it was crazy I transferred to Serra because they liked me because my game reminded them of Adoree'. They were recruiting Adoree' heavily. After I talked to them they were telling me how they liked my game and they wanted me to play both ways.
"That's what really caught my attention. They said what they're missing right now is a playmaker. When they told me to play both ways I was like, 'Tennessee? SEC?' When I heard that I was like 'Oh wow,' that caught my attention right there."
Norman, who shined again this past weekend at the IMG 7on7 West Regional, had to do a little work himself to get the offer though. Tennessee's coaches made it clear if he wasn't interested in leaving Los Angeles to let them know, so no time would be wasted on either side. After talking with Norman and 7on7 coach Keyshawn Johnson, the four-star made it clear to the Tennessee staff he's highly interested in the program and the offer came through. A trip to Knoxville is expected in the early part of May. Norman also said he plans to visit Clemson's camp as well.
