'15 CA QB Sheriron Jones (UT Signee 2/4/15)

And I'm sure you'll try to be that guy that burns him even though you don't know WTF the circumstances are behind the scenes. Do you really think Jones is trying to "sneak" another QB in? He knew that all of this would come out about the in home, etc. How do you know that Jones hasn't discussed this with the two committed QBs yet?

Because the world is the way he says it is.

He doesn't. JMO of course.

I said I did not like the tactic and felt it was dishonest when used it to sign both guys in 2013. Most were fine with it because it worked for UT to slip in another QB. Of course when Riley never bought into the staff or trusted them, he was the bad guy or so fans on here felt. "Not a team player".

Now CBJ is about to try and pull it again, and IMO even worse. I don't like it and have no issue in saying that. I understand some are fine with it, and they can voice that opinion. Much the same way folks don't have to like what I have to say, it goes both ways. I just don't look at things like this and say, "let's just keep that quiet, it doesn't look good".

Leb I'll tell you right now If I had to pick between Jones and Jennings I'd likely take Jones. Dormady is a question because in this system I feel if you don't have an athletic runner who can pass it will not work i.e. Worley. But you have to take all 3 barring you only have 1 qb on the roster. As far as Ferguson he's gone he quit so Vuck him. Per players on the team he felt he should've been handed the job and had bad work ethics got beat out and his feelings were hurt. "next man up" is what CBJ says so guess what if you don't like it "Next Fan Up"

Boom! So, de1, it sounds like u know Peterman is transferring, and we do want to take 3 QBs? Also, have u heard anything new with AJ? If u wud rather post that info in football talk thread and not here, that's fine...if u have any info.

If CBJ would take Jones over Jennings today as well, as I said earlier....JJ would be wise to pay attention to what is playing out. He wants to be a QB. QD & JJ want to step back and reconsider their options with what's going on. IMO it would not be a bad idea at all. Waiting till the EEs were almost locked in before trying to push for another QB looks very bad IMO. I'm just looking at it for what it is. I'd expect just about any college football coach with a heartbeat could negative recruit the heck out of it.

As stated I really like him. If Butch wants him he has good reasons. Besides NP possibly going, it could be that Kendall might have been told he would be the only QB in that class. FWIW.

I doubt that's the case unless they already feel like he is wavering. With recent going on's, that may be the case. With them continuing to extend offers to other 2016 QBs(the instate kid the other day), looks to me like they plan to take 2.

The kid had just decommited from UF AND reached out to the staff. I wait with great anticipation to see how you are going to twist the timing into Butch being a shady recruiter.

Do you think CBJ has put any effort into concealing that they have had talks with S Jones? It's widely reported, if the staff is being "sneaky" they are doing a really, really crappy job at it. :eek:lol:

I just note that CBJ did not recruit/offer/or pursue any other QBs since early June when QD committed. If he wanted a 3rd QB, why did he not do it then? It's just a coincidence that it's literally the week the EEs are more less locked in? Got it. You can view it how ever you need to. I see it how I see it. I've seen this maneuver before.

Leb?...you do KNOW when Sheriron decommitted?...right? Your making this out to be some sinister mastermind enterprise actually complements Butch...it just ain't true! :stop:

If it were a timing thing, why is it happening now and not after the EEs sign. Take off the tin foil hat, Leb.

SO why did CBJ not continue to recruit, stop in to visit, stop by the school, and things like he does with every other recruit he is recruiting? DR was committed to Ole Miss and CBJ was right there, trying to push for a flip. What's the difference with Jones? IMO the timing says a lot.

The dead period I believe starts in just a few days. Then the EEs sign. Choosing to "all a sudden" push for a 3rd QB gives the (2) committed guys less than a week to decide what they want to do. As shady as this maneuver looks, CBJ had to give them at least a little out. They have a few days to consider what's happening.

Well as YOU so strongly advocate, he had two commits that he felt good with at the position AFTER he had strongly pursued this recruit and lost to Florida...the guy picks his battles and pursued NEEDS...when the possibility of landing him reemerges...he does his job and considers it...nothing evil going on here...hope you don't need it to be.

I don't need it to be. As I said, any football coach recruiting against TN has some serious ammunition with this one. Negative recruiting is big business. Especially when the HC just gets it all teed up for them.

The one's using that "ammunition" have shot those same rounds and that can easily be shown...that is if they're worth a crap.

IMO it's not a hard sell to a recruit to be THE guy. At times being 1 of 2 guys is reasonable. Being 1 of 3? Very, Very unlikely. Especially when the starter is returning for at least 1 and possibly 2 more years. Add to that a 2016 already on board and offers going out to more. If I'm a QB, especially one who was told they were taking (2), the situation has changed. That's clear.

Jennings took his OV last weekend AFTER the S Jones interest broke and still wants to be a Vol. Interesting that a certain poster continually ignores this fact as it does not fit his agenda

Ok... Still nothing shady to negative recruit with...back to numbers huh ?

If this wasn't happening, no other coaches could negatively recruit against Tennessee /blue . Seriously, unless you know what discussions have gone on between CBJ and JJ and QD,all you can do is speculate. Also, are you certain CBJ hasn't talked to any other QBs? How can you possibly say that? There is a bunch you don't know about this and that you cannot know. If you choose to fill those gaps with evil intent, no one can stop you. But at a point it is hard to take seriously, particularly when you keep repeating it.

You can choose to ignore it. It's cool. Not everyone views a situation the same. Could a recruit see it the way I do? I'd think so. Especially if as both guys have said, they were told CBJ was taking (2) QBs in 2015. Not my words, but theirs.

You'd think so...but then you're biased. :)

99% of what is posted on this board is speculation. People just choose what to believe and what not to.

Could CBJ have spoken to another QB since June? Maybe. If he had visited a home, stopped by a school, or something like that it would usually be posted/reported. Kind of like the CBJ visiting SJ info. Did you see any of that since June? Yeah, I didn't either.
