'15 CA QB Sheriron Jones (UT Signee 2/4/15)

You'd think so...but then you're biased. :)

Even though I'm a Vol fan, I tend to think I'm one of the least biased here. I just can't look at everything in every situation with the Orange colored shades as some do. It's just not me. I can step back and look at something without always declaring whatever happens, it's pro UT because I said it is.

You can choose to ignore it. It's cool. Not everyone views a situation the same. Could a recruit see it the way I do? I'd think so. Especially if as both guys have said, they were told CBJ was taking (2) QBs in 2015. Not my words, but theirs.

My favorite part was how Butch secretly devised the downfall of Muschamp to get Jones to decommit which triggered the recruitment just before the dead period. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....................................................................................................................................Freakin conspiracy theorists. All aluminum foil hats and pink bunny slippers....

I usually admire your levelheaded but resilient approach...but you're stretching here and the cracks are showing... Too many working parts in this "conspiracy". :loco:

If Butch was able to DEVISE all this, even the NEGAVOLS need to give it up and capitulate! :thud: BAD BOY STUFF GOING ON HERE!!! :yahoo:

Boom! So, de1, it sounds like u know Peterman is transferring, and we do want to take 3 QBs? Also, have u heard anything new with AJ? If u wud rather post that info in football talk thread and not here, that's fine...if u have any info.

I have no clue but I'd assume he'd do something similar to Nash Nance seeing that the writing is on the wall that he probably won't be getting any playing time here. Good kid though and I wish and hope it works out for him. On the AJ front man they are just going through the ramifications as usual. From what I recently heard they're trying to move expeditiously but want to make sure it's a fair and thorough investigation. Hell the newest info is the young lady's friend from Fla is testifying against her, and that's to add to texts from the girl to AJ, and all the other evidence. Just know Dre Bowles is not respected by many in the entire state of TN not let alone the football program.

Damn so Bowles was the guy who told her to testify? Guess that's writing on the wall that he's leaving too?

I doubt that's the case unless they already feel like he is wavering. With recent going on's, that may be the case. With them continuing to extend offers to other 2016 QBs(the instate kid the other day), looks to me like they plan to take 2.

May be true, yet. we also know that most of the offers are not committable immediately while Kendall's was. I would definitely be offering others in case my primary target bolted. Which may be the case if he takes 3 QB's in this cycle.

I prefer to take the realistic approach as well, as you stated in another post. I just don't see any conspiracy in this case. Jones is more advanced as a QB than Jennings IMO. Much better passer. Jennings has great upside if he is developed well though. However, if Jennings doesn't make the grade at QB he is a guy that could shine in the secondary. It may be that simple - I have no idea.

IMO it's not a hard sell to a recruit to be THE guy. At times being 1 of 2 guys is reasonable. Being 1 of 3? Very, Very unlikely. Especially when the starter is returning for at least 1 and possibly 2 more years. Add to that a 2016 already on board and offers going out to more. If I'm a QB, especially one who was told they were taking (2), the situation has changed. That's clear.

The situation is the same at any school you have to compete to be the starter at QB. If you take one QB, if he doesn't compete at a high level he will either never be the starter or he will never be the starter for long. If you don't have it it doesn't matter if you're in a class of 1 commit or 3 commits. Nathan Peterman was the only QB taken in the 2012 class and it matters not one damn bit because he will be recruited over because he doesn't have the ability to start.

The fact is we have one guy on campus right now that can take a snap at QB and us have a chance to win a game. You could look around and not find a major college program with such a void of talent at the most important position on the field. Look down the rosters of most major college programs and you'll see at least two guys that you would feel comfortable taking snaps and giving your team a chance to win a ballgame. Who does TN have behind Dobbs that gives us any chance?

Leb let me explain my friend. As a coach you do what's necessary to better your team and keep your job. In order to do so you'll step on toes and hurt a few ppl along the way. In this Jennings situation you tell him he will get a shot at qb unlike Coach Fulmer was willing to do for Randall Cobb. you get him on campus try it and eventually move him. There is no conspiracy or none of that. It's simple recruiting Get Better or get beat

IDK, I think there is no doubt if half of the stuff rumored is true AJ got royally screwed but I don't see how Bowles could have done stuff much different. Bowles made probably the most logical choice given the crappy information that he had. He trusted the wrong girl apparently and it's going to cost him if all the rumors are true. I feel bad for all parties involved in this.

I think I heard that Bowles and the girl AJ supposedly raped were seeing each other at the time or something along those lines. Wouldn't surprise me if the girl got caught cheating and decided to lie her way out, who knows.

Church. Can I get an amen? Glad we have a coach willing to do the best we can for all parties but keep the program at the front of it all.

I just note that CBJ did not recruit/offer/or pursue any other QBs since early June when QD committed. If he wanted a 3rd QB, why did he not do it then? It's just a coincidence that it's literally the week the EEs are more less locked in? Got it. You can view it how ever you need to. I see it how I see it. I've seen this maneuver before.

So you're saying there is no possible way that NP has recently talked to the coaches about transferring and they are thinking about 3 QBs since all we are left with is Dobbs? I mean does it have to be CBJ being shady? I'm just curious what you think...

Well Chad Kelly committed to Ole Miss. He was the QB that left Clemson and went JUCO. He will most likely battle with Kincade for the job next year. Makes the Jones situation even odder.

Who be "jibing"?

Just curious if he is even willing to entertain the idea...apologies

Really? That's all he's been doing the last week, and it's only getting dumber ......... On a side note I don't ever recall seeing a poster being so amnoying that even the insiders attack them, lol. Not to mention every single poster in the thread! Lol

Could CBJ have spoken to another QB since June? Maybe. If he had visited a home, stopped by a school, or something like that it would usually be posted/reported. Kind of like the CBJ visiting SJ info. Did you see any of that since June? Yeah, I didn't either.

How many kids committed to UT this year that weren't even on the radar here (or 247 or Rivals)? Tell me what players he talked to when he went to see MUS game in Memphis? Got a list of the QBs who camped at Tennessee?

What has he said to JJ and QD in the last month about another QB. If he told them "We lost two this year. I hadn't planned on taking three, but we have to if we possibly can," and they understood, would that satisfy you? Did you know if that conversation took place?

I like to hold back on the holier than thou stuff until I know a sin has been committed.
