'15 CA QB Sheriron Jones (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Dobbs starts. IF QD has an injury then JJ is the backup. TFR are back ups all the time. QD heals up and is your #3. Wegzyn is the emergency #4. It gets real crazy, into the WildPig we go. :eek:lol:

Sign Kendall and the instate kid in 2016, and roll with it. Does it really help to add a late 3rd guy when at least 1-2 of those guys won't be around next year anyway? I say focus on signing positions of need (maybe who is #2-5 on the OL instead of who is #4 or #5 at QB) and the QB situation will be fine.

:eek:hmy: You cannot be serious. For the second straight year, we have run down to our third QB. You think this team has a snowball's chance in hell of winning if Wegzyn is the QB?

We need the oline fixed but if we take 3. Hopefully redshirt 2. Then take Kendall and be done next year at qb. I like having guys in the system because 2016 is for sure the year we must make a serious run in the sec. Dobbs senior with two redshirt guys, a backup with mop up experience and Kendall. Of course without a line none of this matters.

You're counting on all 3 guys signed in 2015 to stick. It's my opinion that it would be very unlikely. Especially with a 2016 guy already committed. I'd never take more than 2 HS QBs in a class. Even then, you're more than likely going to lose 1 of them shortly. Take that 3rd QB spot and try to flip the Gilliam kid late from WF. I'd also gauge IF Givens at Ole Miss would be open to listening. With Ole Miss adding another OT yesterday, maybe he would. Take 2 QBs in 2015, and take 2 in 2016. Spacing them out roster wise at least gives you a chance to see them stick around long enough to develop and contribute.

As my post started. JJ would be #2 IF QD were actually injured and could not go early on. QD would be #3. If QD's supposed injury was something that would cost him his TFR year, IMO don't use an EE spot on him. Use it on a kid that will likely contribute as a TFR.

Wegzyn would be #4 in my scenario. We get to the #4 QB, not sure the season is salvageable anyway. Let it ride.

Soooooo, you think that the coaches should not let the kid early enroll if he is injured? That's pretty much telling Dormady that we've moved on from him if we do that. It seems a little IDK......."shady" this late in the process. I thought you wanted the staff to always take the high road?

We've committed to Dormady and Jennings and both of them have stayed committed to us. I don't see that changing for either side but if there is any injury concern especially if it's to his shoulder that has already been surgically repaired then you almost have to recruit another prospect. You're not going to get one in as an early enrollee this late anyways.

Leb, make sure that you stir all of these threads up really good once again before you leave the board next week.

I'm not trying to stir anything. I just feel QB is alright for now. That's all.

It will be more than a week! I closed on a home in Princeville and will be gone for between 30-60 days as I want to do some renovating there. Also think it's about time I try my hand at golf. I may pop in from time to time if I et the urge.

VN can celebrate!

Not at all. If the injury were serious, it's not uncalled for to tell QD he is still a 100% take on NSD and allow a kid who could play as a TFR to EE. Of course if QDs injury is not serious, then by all means allow hi to EE and start putting in work.

Who are we going to get to EE when we haven't been recruiting a 3rd QB until recently? You cannot even acknowledge that the staff may have had a reason for the sudden change in recruiting a third QB that is totally justified.

I'm not even talking about another QB being an EE. I am talking about IF QD's injury were serious(lose his FR year serious), then I'd use that EE spot on a player at a position that could play early, and have QD just sign on NSD.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well. It will be an interesting month or so. Took me almost 2 years to talk myself into island living being best for retirement. Should be a lot of fun.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, LV. Enjoy. :hi: Princeville is awesome...I love Kaua'i. I spent nine months living in Kapaʻa back in 2008. I'd love to move back permanently.

How many re-tweets did you see posted by QBs who are not currently committed to UT since maybe mid June where they mentioned CBJ stopping by? How many times did you see it mentioned CBJ or another staff member went and visited a 2015 QB who is not currently committed to UT since maybe mid June? How many QBs did UT extend offers to in the 2015 class after QD chose Tennessee? Probably the same # that I saw. Zero on all accounts. You may not call it proof, but it's at least enough for me to go on. UT did not look at all to be actively recruiting 2015 QBs after QD committed. Maybe they were holding out for Torrance?

Also, if you have 2 QBs coming in, plus at least Dobbs on campus, you DO have (3) QBs competing.

So your usual conjecture post. Got ya.

I like JJ but he's hit or miss much like Dobbs is. I think he finds his future on the defensive side of the ball. I HOPE I'm wrong though. Kids a baller.

IF he doesn't make it at QB then I have no problem with him on defense. You're right though, kid can ball and honestly I don't care where he plays.

Princeville as in Kauai?

Yes.

Decided to buy a place on the Princeville golf course. A bit earlier than I wanted to, but the deal was right so I jumped at it. Plan to use it as my retirement home. My goal has been to retire at 40. We'll see if I can wait it out 5 more years or not. :)

You must be in the Haslam family.
