But Johns' response to the presentation at Tennessee was off the charts and the Volunteers would have a strong position if they decide to offer.
"I went to Tennessee to work out individually with them and my wide receiver Jabari Greenwood," Johns told CavsCorner last week. "I was talking to their coach and they pretty much said every quarterback they offer they want to get to know because I would be the face of the school if I commit there. They want to get to know me better and when the time is right an offer could come."
He's hoping it does.
"That was pretty much the nicest school I've been to," Johns said. "The stadium was in the middle of campus. The campus is really close. The academic facility was probably the nicest I've been to. They're really stepping it up with their academics."
Johns had a connection to Knoxville before he even stepped foot on campus. In fact, there's a reason he made that trip in the first place.
"Their offensive coordinator was a GA [graduate assistant] when my head coach was at Rutgers and that's how I got connected to them," he explained.
