I guess our big disconnect is your MISSinterpretation of what we post... no one states or implies that we have Butch's ear or are otherwise confidants...we feel that TG is a bad fit either numberwise or chemistry or???
I'm not speaking for anyone else, but when I hear Doug Matthews throw out recruiting tidbits, I regard them higher than an insider who associates with Miami and who has a personal relationship with the athlete in question...DM has no pony in the Gibson race and he does have contact with the coaches...do I take it as "gospel"...no...but I go to church on Sundays. :)
If I end up being wrong and he's a Vol?...of course I cheer for him to be successful! In the meantime,we throw scenarios around. (BOTH SIDES BTW !!)...if you perceive that as "parading", I'd recommend you take the ice blue pill that has CHILL written on it...not the one you take when you're preparing to inflict evil in a not so romantic fashion. :eek:

Also noted your attempt with my quote...were you trying to edit it where I was saying I sleep with four people? :huh:...and then a ball of yarn entered your peripheral, resulting in yet another tragic lack of focus?...appreciate that type of humor...especially when I'm the target...makes me sad when it's flubbed. :no:

Gibson isnt a take: clearly he is still very much a take for butch. Butch doesent seem the type of man to lead a kid on.
Teams are backing off Gibson: Gibson visits tOSU throwing a wrench into that theory.
Matthews says he isn't a take at QB: Gibson publically states he wants to play qb at the nxt level and yet UT still is pursuing him even with two on board.

How could any of this be misinterpreted?

While I truly feel butch makes a spot for him if he chooses to do so I dont think we are as in good of position as previously thought. With that being said it raises a good question. If you have Sweat and Gibson which.do you choose? Granted you get one and only one. I know my choice would be Sweat. You dont get public.comparison to Clowney because you stink.

Good points...now if I took the tack of using the "clearly" part of your post and selling that as you acting like you know something that you CLEARLY couldn't, you'd be where I'm at when I get the same treatment. I didn't btw...mutual respect helps...I try not to get too cute to the extent of coming across personal...sometimes I unintentionally fail.

I have no doubt CBJ leads on ALOT of recruits. Please note all the kids who have tried to commit to UT as the Vols were their #1 yet CBJ would not actually accept the commitment.

TG could decide to visit OSU on his own dime and I really doubt OSU would ask him not to. Most reports do indicate OSU may take another QB, I just think TG is down their board now a bit.

If you're looking for CBJ to make a public statement saying "We will not accept Torrance Gibson's commitment", you're probably not going to hear that. That in no way means CBJ would take him.

He very well could visit tOSU on his own accord but I cant see recruit s visiting anywhere they arent wanted other than to see friends.

I know coach wouldnt say anything negative about a qb publicly but he also doesent seem like the type to waste efforts toward someone he wasnt pursuing. Just my take though. I agree, tg would be here if they werent sold on qd. They potentially could still take Gibson but ill ride with Jennings I just think hes the better fit. Again just my opinion.

Sweat is the man. Please pick UT....

I'm not sure that Dormady over Gibson, per se, was an easy decision for the staff. An eager and talented "bird in the hand" over one who still will not be ready to commit for several months, however, is a rather easy decision. With respect to the overall theme of this thread, I believe that Butch has contingency plan stacked on top of contingency plan stacked on top of contingency plan. Butch realizes that recruiting is an extremely fluid process and he will ultimately make the numbers work out to the best benefit of the program, not any single position or individual recruit.

So he could be leading on Dormady and Jennings when he supposedly said they would take no more qbs right?

It wasn't Dormady over Gibson anyway. It was Dormady was ready to commit and they took him while still recruiting Gibson at qb.

The difference is CBJ took commitments from Jennings and Dormady.
