'15 FL QB/WR/DB (anything he wants) Torrance Gibson PART II

I DO KNOW about recruiting, whether it is 2014 or in 20 B.C.

People are people and the recruiting message is still the same. Lying is lying no matter who lies and when it takes place....and it does not fly.

Just by the sole fact that you put "20 B.C." in that statement.....shows how much of a royal douche you are.

The main reason I do not consider the Gibson recruitment closed is because I do not truly consider the Dormady recruitment closed. If Dormady has as big a senior season as many analysts and pundits expect, the Texas schools will descend upon him with renewed vigor. If memory serves me correctly, Dormady will be an early enrollee, so we really only have to hold them off until December. However, our retention of Texas recruits historically has not been good.

Dormady is a vol and he will stay a vol.

Honestly, recruiting as a whole hasn't changed all too much. The little nooks and crannies have changed. The pitches, and the relationships has not.

I don't know, I went through it back in '98 and there are a ton of differences I see, just on the surface.

I can't imagine how different it has become under the surface with the rule changes, the technological & social media advances, and increased media coverage in general over the past 16 years

His insistence that he is a QB and not and Athlete. We have two QBs committed. AU is pushing for a second QB not named TG. You know, those obvious signs that you think are mere formalities. Basically you are calling everyone but TG a liar. I would be interested to know why you put so much stock in what TG says. To you and others, his word is infallible and unadulterated truth.

1. Telling people he is a QB is no sign of anything. It's just stating a fact.
2. We actually have 1 definite QB and 1 ATH who may or may not be a QB.
3. You have no idea that AU is not pushing for TG at QB.
4. This is recruiting. Nothing is obvious. All the things you have posted here is pure conjecture.
5. I am not calling anybody a liar. What I have a problem with is why people think TG is a liar? Why is that we believe what other recruits have said about what coaches have told them and not TG? Why is that he lies about things and others have not?
6. I have never said he speaks the absolute truth. Like I said why do we believe other recruits but not TG?

Players just feel more important and can communicate with their fans easily. It's still about having a good relationship, trust, among other things. The rest is nooks and crannies.

So 2 committed QBs say that the coaches say they aren't taking another QB. TG says he is a QB only, and that CBJ is heavily recruiting him at QB. Someone is lying to someone.

I'll trust the kids who are already Vols and the coaches took as commitments. The kid who is in damage control mode? I understand why he may be trying to keep things interesting.

It's not only the fans. The coaches and schools can be in contact much more - even indirectly. Communication is one of the main catalysts for recruiting rules changes. Our ability to communicate with one another has exploded over the past 15 years.

I can't say that this aspect is so much different, because I wasn't recruited any time recently. I can only imagine how much different it would have been with cheap cell phones, texting, and social media - and that's only the communication aspect.

I see your angle, but personally, I disagree.

Again we only have 1 QB committed. Like I said I guess because Gibson said CBJ is recruiting him at QB, he must be lying. But QD said CBJ told him he was not recruiting any more QBs and he must be telling the truth. Believe what you want. This is the recruiting game. Nobody knows anything.

Could CBJ be backing off TG and not recruiting him as hard? Yes. Could CBJ be putting the full court press on him? Yes. Could the rest of TGs top schools be backing off? Yes. Could those schools be just waiting to except his commitment? Yes. Could CBJ have assured him he would get a shot at QB just to get him to commit like he did JJ? Yes. Could CBJ accept his commitment and then switch his position like he could with JJ? Yes. Is there any proof of anything I just typed? Absolutely not. We will just have to wait and see.

Why any of us open this thread is beyond me. Besides we all know where he'll end up and the place is APP! (might need some help from butchna)

At what age does one begin to worry about gramma? Should I be concerned?

Typically grammas have expiration dates printed on the back. You should probably consider throwing them out no more than a couple months after that date. A sour grammar can really cause problems.

The fact the Gibsonites are having to resort to not counting JJ now, since their "CBJ is taking 3 QBs" fell through, shows even they can see the writing on the wall. So they grasp for anything to use, like an A&M commit's word, who picked Trent Thompson to Auburn, to keep hope alive. Two kids who have nothing in the world to gain by lying is more believable than the one who doesn't have anything to lose.

I'm not really sure... If you're talking about gramma's, mine's been 41 since sometime in the late '70s. Maybe when they start to tell their real age.

If you mean personally, I stopped caring when it became obvious I was lied to about the "I before E" thing being fail-proof - when I was about 9.
