Looks like they're switching it back over to qb because where it says that now, it used to say athlete.

I have never noticed it to say athlete by his name. I've looked a few different times as others have asked the same question and it's always said dual threat quarterback. What had changed was the ranking classification. IMO when they changed his classification, they just didn't update it by his name.

I just dont think Jefferson comes here. If im wrong im wrong. Your right though if he makes the move I think he could be one of the top wr in this class but that remains to be seen at either position. As far as the issues go who's to say they weren't planted to force the Miami play.isn't the guy who allegedly said it a Miami booster or who pushes kids to Miami?

That one will have to play out IMO. Kid says 1 thing, then it changes the next day. Then it all plays out again. IF PW were to "open things up", sure CBJ could consider TG for the spot IF the "issues" are handled and are not a concern.

I don't think pw is going any place and I can't say I believe that Gibson has any concerns. Again if I am wrong ole well.

You know, if both Jennings and Dormady are EE's and should Peterman not be able to clearly beat those two out for the No.2 spot in the Spring, I could see Peterman bailing.

He's been pretty patient, thus far, but not having at least the No.2 spot locked up, next Spring, would be enough for me to transfer, if I were in his shoes.

So, in that case, we'd be left with just 3 QB's on the roster. Could be the CBJ is talking to TG as a WR recruit, tentatively, but leaving the QB prospect somewhat open down the line (in case Jennings or Dormady don't pan out, or Peterman transfers)

I'd guess the coaches at least have a feel for Peterman and his future plans. I have mentioned it before and do think some kids are just happy being a role/team guy. Not every kid will be a starter. Not every kid will be a #2. It's just how it is and there are a lot of SRs who graduate from schools all over the country who were not in the 2 deep. Do I think Peterman is #2 next year behind Dobbs and ahead of 2 TFR? Probably. Does Peterman have ideas of playing in the NFL? If not, he could very well be content playing out his career as a Vol backup QB. JMO

Just to be clear, it's so hard to know for sure with so little to go on from you, do you think Gibson was probably a take at one point? Do you think that the "issues" may have jeopardized things anyway? Do you think that taking Jennings and Dormady closed the door on TG to UT at QB? Do you think that it's unlikely that Gibson comes here at all? Would you say Cane, IYO? I just really have a hard time knowing your position on these things.

Butch is not going to create a situation where he either has a logjam at QB or one where he potentially loses one or both of his currently committed QBs. Just watch and let it play out.

Disclaimer: I am not a "Gibsonite" or anti-Gibson. I have nothing at all invested in this kid. I have debated for awhile about posting in this train wreck of a tread but I figured WTH.

I have been following Gibson's recruitment since he showed up on UT's radar. Something that has struck me as odd since his 5 day vacation to UT, is that he has changed the way he post to twitter. At one point during his recruitment he would post several different post a day for multiple teams. Since his trip his posts seemed to have changed. What caused this? One of two things could have happened in my opinion. Option #1 is he committed to CBJ as a silent and wants his "shock the world moment". (Flame away) Option #2 is CBJ told him to hit the bricks and it has caused TG to re-evaluate how he is handling his recruitment.

My personal opinion is that TG is a silent and I don't see anyway CBJ can not take a player with talents like his. That is unless the coaching staff believes he will become a cancer to the team. It's been reported that he has "issues" but I don't believe that should be a reason to completely stop recruiting a kid. He is a kid and I would wager that most kids have "issues" in some fashion. I have no clue how this is going to play out but I hope for the best for my team, regardless if we see Gibson on the back of a UT jersey the next few years.
