You are correct. I also doubt that CBJ would risk losing inroads with instate talent as well as TX by turning away already committed players to take a chance on TG.

I love that the people who claim he will never play qb say we can't take him because it will scare off the QBs committed. If he is going to play WR as some of our gurus claim why would it matter to the QBs, they should want an athlete like this to throw to.

If that was an attempt at humor it failed miserably. I don't disagree with some of what you say, but when you come here and act like we are the luckiest people in the world to be graced by you and your information it comes across as prickish

If coaches have conflicting information, there is no way any of us can make logical, rational predictions about what is going to happen. Bruce, Picou, Smith, Oliver, and now Chance say hi, and I don't think any of them were really on any of our radar when they committed. Even if you have past experience in following recruiting, how many time have you been surprised by CBJ? Please don't come in here with know it all attitude. It is insulting to those of us who haven't had a complete frontal lobotomy.

I tried to say the same thing and got called a traitor to my country yesterday. It's all in good fun though. Also, you're right that this has been a crazy recruiting year so far.

Yeah, everyone gets too invested in one point of view or another and gets their panties in a bunch in a hurry. Let's speculate all day long, but resist the urge to state something as fact that you really don't know just so you can say "I told you so" in a few days/months.

Gibson had a great talk with Butch Jones recently,and Gibson knows exactly where he stands right now. Which is we are recruiting him as a QB first. Butch Jones knows that Gibson won't commit until after the season is over. We are still continuing to recruit him hard.

They talk to me every day. Coach Butch Jones is a great coach. They talk to me every hour (of) every day. And it's not just their fans. Coach Jones has a great staff around him. They have a great campus and academics. They didn't take a quarterback last cycle and definitely need a quarterback. Coach Jones is getting the top recruits right now.
The reason why they are number one for me right now is because they stay in touch with me the most."

I didn't say you were a traitor...just that you were loyal to Mother England and generally intolerant of people having their own views...sorry if you got in a sticky wicket old chap. :salute:

For the record, I have never said TG could never play QB. I said he was no longer a take at QB once 2 were already committed.

I did say WR was an option. IF they take Jefferson, then IMO TG at WR does not work out either.

Just to point something out. That quote was from about 2 months ago(Around May 6th) and long before Quinten Dormady committed. Things can quickly change in recruiting.

Post of the day, if not the week.

I nearly fall out of the chair laughing at the all knowing predictions of some self proclaimed experts that are in the know. Even Butch will plant info to get people off track and many confidants would not remain so if they tell the info that they know. All HC's play the game with the media and the "inner circle" to throw the opponents off the scent at times. Our fun is in following the action and guessing. But that is all it is. Only Butch and staff actually know. We do have a few reliables that give some reliable inside as best as they can determine it, which is appreciated. But we all should know it can change at a moment's notice.

Again, would love to have TG. Not counting on it, but glad Butch continues to pursue.

Another unsolicited response from Callahan about an hour ago (re: Gibson)...

I wouldn't consider Gibson a top target for Tennessee, and I think the odds of him signing with the Vols are not very good.
