The 6-foot-3, 251-pound defensive lineman received 100 letters from Tennessee Saturday and was certainly surprised by all the attention considering Tennessee has yet to offer.

"It definitely surprised me because I had been hearing from Tennessee since I went to the camp and dominated off the edge and I know I'm on their radar and I was surprised they hadn't offered me," Ude said. "It was a little surprising because I didn't think they'd do that if they hadn't offered me but I talked to coach (Zach) Azzanni today and from what he and coach Strippling have told me they are pretty high on me."

"One thing for that's attractive about Tennessee right now is they're on the come-up with this coaching staff and this recruiting class for 2014," Ude said. "Clearly, a team on the rise right now. That's always attractive."

"I also like the fact that they're giving me a little bit of leeway on what I can play, both defensive end and linebacker. So, that's also a plus when teams say they can use me in different ways," Ude said. "And then facilities, definitely. They're ridiculous. The facilities are amazing. It's really nice to see the dedication with the facilities and Neyland Stadium is huge and it seems like a great place to be. I definitely want to get down there and see how it is."

“i talk to coach azzanni about every week. I call and talk to coach stripling every week, too, and coach jones every once in a while[.] they like me a lot. They were waiting on my junior film, and that just came out in either early (december) or late (november), so that (offer) could be coming any time now.”

“it was a good experience,” he said. “i got to go and work with the coaches. The facilities are amazing. The weight room is second to none. It’s a really nice campus. Knoxville, i didn’t get to go and look around too much at the actual city, but the campus itself was pretty nice.”

“i really took away (from the tennessee-florida game) that they’ve got a lot of size, and with the recruiting class that they’re bringing in, too, you can see that they’re gearing toward getting bigger guys. That’s at least what i took away,” he said. “they’re competing at a pretty high level. They’re on their way to coming into that top level in the sec. I know (tennessee offensive line commitment) orlando brown — not too well, but i know him — and i know of (vols linebacker commitment) kevin mouhon, since he plays for norcross (high school). I know they’re putting together a real good class.”

“i’m still wide open,” ude said. “i’m not trying to go narrow anything down, because i’m waiting on a couple offers right now. Once those come in, that’s when i’m going to start really going and narrowing things down toward the spring and the summer, see who comes out of the woodwork, take some more visits, just because i didn’t get to as many places as i wanted to (this season).

Looked at his offer list and wow. 3 things.

1. Lots of offers.
2. We havent offered.
3. Kid must be smart for Stanford, Harvard, Yale and Princeton to offer.

He's missing alot of big schools offers. Is it because his frame is already filled out. Not much growing can be done here

He has a lot of learning to do. He is a physical freak but is viewed as a project by most.

Mike Farrell video interview on rivals...Ude plans to cut his list of top schools soon and will commit end of summer. His only recent visit was to UT. Enjoyed going with Andrew Butcher, likes the coaching staff, had a good time, still waiting on an offer but said he enjoyed the visit. Ude said he plans to take visits this summer to BC, USCw, UCLA, Cal, Stanford, UF, UGA, Bama, Clemson, OSU, Michigan State. He said he currently has 28 offers and is hoping to get offers from USC, UCLA, UF and UGA. He said 3 schools that will definitely make the cut will be Oregon, BC and Cal. Oregon is recruiting him really well, likes what they tell him, BC was his first offer and that means a lot, Cal has great academics, location and he can play early.

That is the word I get from my Georgia contacts. Will do very well in camps but does not carry that to the football field.
