Steven Wright

Steven Wright - Hudl

Georgia defensive end Steven Wright camped today and had a good day as well and has a Tennessee offer. He told me Tennessee is right behind Auburn as those two are his top two schools.

The Ware County defensive end has one of the highest ceilings of any player that took the field in the Elite Junior Classic. Wright stands an impressive 6-foot-5, 240-pounds and is a pure pass rusher. Wright showcased his athleticism and reach with a pair of sacks in the Elite Junior Classic and is a very smart and disciplined football player. Wright made plays out in space and also used his length and athleticism to find pursuit angles in heavy traffic and still lay the hammer on ball carriers. Wright has all the tools be a superstar at the college level.

"Everywhere is within walking distance if you have the time."

"What's another word for Thesaurus?"

"My wife asked me if I slept well. I said No, I made a few mistakes."

"If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you."

"I bought some batteries, but they weren't included."

"The sign over the shop said, 'We're open seven days a week, but not in a row.'"

I spilled spot remover on my dog and now he's gone.

Why do we park on driveways and drive on parkways?

Talk about it in The General's Quarters
While many elite players these days don't camp at places that have offered them, Waycross, Ga., defensive lineman Steven Wright would have none of that.

The 6-foot-4, 235-pound defensive end made the trip to Knoxville to show the Vol coaches and those in attendance he's earned the offers from Tennessee, North Carolina, Nebraska, Georgia Tech and others that have come his way.

It was the first time Wright has visited Knoxville, and he came away impressed with his experience.

"It was fun. It was my first time at Tennessee.I took a tour halfway around the school, but that was it. I got to see the weight room and the training rooms and all of that," Wright said. "It's a new experience. It's something I'd have to get used to and something I would want to see again."

Wright spent most of his time with linebackers coach Tommy Thigpen and liked being around the veteran defensive assistant.

"Really, coach Thigpen. He's a great guy and he loves to joke and he's fun to be around," Wright said.

Wright said the Vols are No. 2 for him behind Auburn right now and could see himself ending up in Knoxville.

"I could see myself playing here and fitting into the environment. I really liked the coaches," Wright said.
