Quarte Sapp, LB, 6-1/197, Alpharetta, Ga.
With Jacob Johnson moving to defensive end permanently and with the uncertainty surrounding Chris Weatherd's situation, suddenly last year's linebacker signing class is cut in half making the linebacker position one of need in the class of 2015.
Sapp has said he would like to make a decision this summer and the Vols have appeared to be the leader or school to watch the most the last few weeks. Sapp obviously knows a good bit about the Vols. True freshman running back Treyvon Paulk was a teammate of Sapp's at Milton High School. Quarterback Joshua Dobbs is from Alpharetta as is defensive end commitment Andrew Butcher.
Sapp had hoped to be in town for Tennessee's orange carpet day back in June. The Vols are trying to get him to Rocky Top for another visit in July. Sapp has also talked about visiting Nebraska as well as Texas A&M.
Sapp has said he would like to make a decision this summer, but only if he gets to see the schools on his radar. If he doesn't see everyone then it will likely be a January timeline in terms of a decision.
