'15 JUCO CB Justin Martin (UT Signee 2/4/15)

The cool kids all want single digit numbers now. It will reach a point where we have both an offensive and defensive player wearing 1-9. Back in the day, Heath Shuler insisted on 21 because he wanted a high number that not many QB's have ever worn. Kids these days are conformists.

This kid had an opportunity to play at the University of Tennessee. I doubt a number will carry as much weight as that does.

For the love of God I hope we keep this guy!
He is a special player and would be a huge contribution. Adding a shut down corner to this offensive line helps both squads.
CB covers receivers=qb holds the ball= big uglies feast
DL rushes hard=Qb throws fast and distracted=CB pick six
Would be an incredibly complimentary pairing.
Can the recruits sign the LOI early?
Recruiting gives me ulcers!
Me and volition are hungry!

While I agree with the above, haiku is only supposed to be three lines.

Ummmmm

@Elite_made: I can't wait to put 8 on again next year. 1 was cool and all but 8 is my number.

Isn't butchers number gonna be 8?

2 players can have the same number, as long as they aren't on the field at the same time. With Butcher more than likely redshirting, they probably will have the same number

I don't think Butcher redshirts...and if he does, what happens the next year?

Kill that noise, players like certain numbers for different reasons. He'll rock a different number if that one is taken already.

Exactly. Sometimes it goes deeper than just liking a certain number.

Not saying this is the case with Martin bc I don't know, but sometimes numbers have serious sentimental value. My cousin was killed in a house fire several years ago when he was 15. Best athlete I've ever known personally. He wore 34 and now my kids always wear 34 to honor him.

They wouldn't do that because you never know when someone is needed and who develops faster to be ready for game day. Only one defensive player will get the number and the other will need to find another one

Ole Chavis going after Amadi and Martin. I'd be suprised if he got Martin. LSU fandom was a big part of that interest along with Chavis but one without the other I don't think is enough to overcome Tn

Instant impact player. Really hope we hang on

Not really worried about A&M. I could see LSU since he was a fan of them, but A&M is so far away from Nashville and Atlanta (where he is originally from) and A&M just doesn't have that defensive history like LSU.
