Not really worried about A&M. I could see LSU since he was a fan of them, but A&M is so far away from Nashville and Atlanta (where he is originally from) and A&M just doesn't have that defensive history like LSU.

I can't see them being a factor here. A&M has waited very late in the process and Chavis just doesn't have the reputation of being a DC that recruits flock to. He builds a strong rapport with players once they are playing for him but he has never been known as a good recruiter.

Chavis has gotten a lot better. He was used to Fulmer days where you could let everyone else do the work and swoop in last minute on home visit. Times have changed. He was the guy doing most of the heavy lifting for Martin, Phillips and Jacksons recruitments. I don't know about UGO but assume he might have there too. He will never be a Thig/Butch/Saban level recruiter but kids love him and he has plenty of track record of results that sell itself.

That being said Marting isn't going all the way out to AM. He knew Chavis would offer him wherever he went. If he went somewhere like UGA that would have been scary but he didn't.

IIRC he only spent 1 year in Tennessee and claims ATL to be his home.

If he is that enamored with Chavis, not much you can do about it but I am not sure why. I would say that db's suffer under his system as opposed to lb'ers or d lineman but you never know.

Its just a visit and he does have a good relationship with Chavis, but db's definitely don't suffer in his system. Chavis has 3 Thorpe winners since 2009
