'15 LA RB Kendall Bussey (Former UT commit)

I really think this is Reid's spot since he told the coaching staff that he is still committed but was going to take visits to see what else might be out there.

Agreed ESP after hearing paulk may come back. If that's the case you have 4 good RBs in Hurd, AK, Bussey and Paulk. Then you have RDA4 as a specialty player.

"It's a dream come true," Bussey said following his announcement Friday night. "I've always wanted to play for the University of Tennessee. It makes me kind of emotional to think about it. But, once coach Pelini was fired fired I just wasn't comfortable with the new coaching staff and this opportunity opened up and it's all just worked out. It's great to be able to go to my dream school."

Besides his relationship with the Tennessee coaches, Bussey sees an opportunity for early playing time in Knoxville given he running back situation on campus as Jalen Hurd is the only returning scholarship running back heading into the spring semester. Besides Jalen, who played a lot this year as a freshman and started, and Alvin Kamara who actually signed from juco, besides those two it's kind of wide open," Bussey explained. "That's definitely a positive for coming in and trying to earn playing time early."

They've told me how they can use that part of my game in their offense," Bussey said. "I have to credit my coach because we would spend some practices catching balls for the first hour. So I've become pretty fluent in catching them and it's translated on to the field. I catch a lot in games and coach Gillespie has talked about how he can fit that in their offense and allow me to get the ball in space"

I love his attitude. Big time pick up.

I'm pretty sure they met right before the stream with the family and wrote that up. I doubt VQ knew more than an hour before he announced.

Yeah, but you're not sure. I doubt if the family waited that long to tip their hand they would have tipped it moments before Kendall's announcement. Papa Bussey would have told Fortenberry or whoever represented VQ to wait like everyone else.

Although I agree with most of this, I am sure there were articles written for both outcomes prior to his announcement.

There has never been an article explaining why a player chose someone else. Veterans on VQ knew he was going to commit. The best way I can explain it is that its a VQ thing. Its something only people who have been on VQ for a long time can interpret when the Mods post. They had 4 different articles about Bussey within 5 minutes.

How would you explain the comments directly from the recruit? If Bussey went to A&M, I doubt they would have had quotes about Kendall picking UT. This isn't meant to be a big deal. I just find humor in a poster who is known for wanting to be an insider bashing updates for pay sites as if he is on the same level.

Doesn't bother me in the least, but after watching his film, why only 3 stars? He has moves, speed, football smarts, can catch the ball.

I agree. I think the 51% comment that a couple of posters want to hang their hat on was a troll job for those who kept asking the same questions. I'm just surprised that anyone would bash free information being provided about their supposed favorite team.

In the war room, the comment "Bussey's announcement we believe is certainly worth watching Friday from Tennessee's standpoint." is a dead give away. The say it in a manner where they aren't ruining a kid's moment, but letting vol fans know he is going to commit.

How this staff's recruiting makes me feel...

Please, let's disconnect Gary Busey from our newest recruit. Gary freaks me out. I'm pretty sure they're last names are pronounced differently anyway.
