Lol you're right. I've never seen a fan base convince themselves of things and actually believe them. It just doesn't make sense to me.

I've seen a fan base do that up close. Twice in the last 10 years, in fact.

Our fan base during our three football-coach searches convinced themselves that the HC job at Tennessee was a "destination" job, a "dream" and "elite" job on par with the likes of AL and USC and Ohio State, yada yada yada...only to be spurned again and again and again by first-tier coaches, and then second-tier coaches, etc. etc.

They've got two very highly ranked backs already committed that are from Baton Rouge and I think they signed 3 last year as well.

In the war room, the comment "Bussey's announcement we believe is certainly worth watching Friday from Tennessee's standpoint." is a dead give away. The say it in a manner where they aren't ruining a kid's moment, but letting vol fans know he is going to commit.

You're absolutely right. They have known and I have followed VQ for a while and when they say they like where we are or to watch a certain announcement then they know something.

I think most likely another 6-6 scenario next year as well, possibly 7-5. They play away at UT, Bama, LSU, and Ole Miss with home games against Auburn, Miss St, A&m, and Mizzou. They just don't have the talented depth to keep up.
