'15 LA RB Kendall Bussey (Former UT commit)

Cool piece in the New Orleans paper (click the arrow at top of page to view):
1. Speed
2. Work ethic
3. Hands
4. Maturity
5. Size
Five things Kendall Bussey brings to Tennessee | NOLA.com

I am looking forward to watching Kendall throughout his career. He was heaped with a ton of praise yesterday and his video and demeanor are great examples for those of us who follow this stuff so closely.

However, for those on this board who have spent the last few weeks downplaying Bussey because of his "meddling fathers" involvement in his recruitment, to the point of sating that getting him would not be worth what we would deal with regarding his father. You all should watch the video of the announcement and then sit back and wonder why you and others continually listen to rumor and gossip and take it as fact without having anyway to know whether it is true. It is both disturbing and disgusting what was implied and was obviously incorrect.

Sure he has the elusiveness of Barry Sanders, but that's only a small part of the package; This kid has Emmitt Smith's durability and vision, Earl Campbell's power, LaDainian Tomlinson's versatility, Chris Johnson's early career speed, Lorenzo Neal's blocking ability, Bo Jackson's overall athletic prowess, and Walter Payton's off-field altruism and humility.
That sounds pretty good but unless he also has Robert Smith's intellect and Travis Henry's virility, I question his place in this class.

Some people view him as a "meddling dad" whereas I view him as a responsible father. KB is still just a kid and, although it's his life, sometimes and most times kids need help making life decisions. I respect this dad and wish that more kids had fathers like him. I have no doubt that if KB has an issue he needs help with, football or life, his father would be there for him. I would urge fathers to handle their childrens recruitment exactly like he did.

Watched his announcement video yesterday. Seems like a very nice kid that has great parents. This is the type of guy we want representing us.

Was also funny when he gave away the A&M hat

For anyone that hasn't watched the commitment video, here's the link Newman's Kendall Bussey announces commitment to Tennessee: Video - Video | NOLA.com

I've gotta admit that I was completely wrong about Bussey Sr. I thought he was just another one of these dads that seem to live their dreams through their football playing son. That man is extremely proud of his son and rightfully so.

I just went back and watched the announcement. If you have not watched it, you should. This is obviously a very classy and loving family and I think we are getting a great addition to our team.
