Like that Butch is offering a good amount of Jersey kids. He's familiar with them from his time at Rutgers, and there's some really good players up there that not a lot of people know about.

I thought Rutgers kept a lot of their players in state?

Only for a few years, and the top players usually always leave the state, a lot even going to the SEC. Penn State still gets the majority of NJ 4/5* high school players.

For example:
Knowshon Moreno
Justin Trattou
Will Hill
Damiere Byrd
Minkah Fitzpatrick just committed to Alabama
Matt Simms :birgits_giggle:

Some that went to other conferences:
Dwayne Jarret
Jabrill Peppers
Greg Olsen
Myron Rolle
Tamba Hali
Anthony Fasano

This kid is currently committed to Michigan. I wonder if he looks around (and we pursue) when Hoke gets fired. Michigan will likely lose the rest of the games on their schedule, leaving them at 2-10. They have Penn St, Mich St, Indiana, Northwestern, Maryland and Ohio State.

You mean when he was there in 1990 and 1991 BEFORE THEY WERE EVEN BORN?

LOL

OT should be our biggest priority right now. No question about it.

Butch needs to get on a plane and go sit down with this kid.

Show him our roster and then some game tape and say 'do you see anyone on this OL you couldn't beat out? I need starters and I need them now."

He then gets on the next plane out and flies to every other highly ranked OL out there and says the same thing.

And don't stop until he gets 4 more guys on the OL that are quality players.

We have Hurd, Scott, and Kamara as RB's next year. We also have multiple WR's.

We don't need a great QB. Just a game manager.

If we can run the ball well we can then throw as a second option.

OL is all we need.

I wouldn't be mad. Was Butch in on his recruitment like say Kirkland.

I doubt it. Other than a UT offer showing on 247, there is nothing to point to Tennessee being in play for him at all. I'd have to guess Penn St would be just judging by 247 and his multiple visits there and all.

247 shows no UT coaches have visited him, and he has not taken any trips to Knoxville.

Now we are talking. Lets go get this monster. We need a LT. He looks the bill. I like it. Ron likes it. Mahoney doesn't know about it. Thig about to be released on it. Butch gets it...

Unless Michigan totally botches the hire...he probably stays in Ann Arbor.

I agree with all of these thoughts. Just wanted to bring some attention to the situation. Would love to add him and we still have a good sales pitch for early playing time. Redshirt then start your next year because at least three jobs will be open that year.

I was looking to see if we could raid any of their OT as well. Shows how desperate we (UT fans) are for another OT in this class.
