Was sleeping and missed all the excitement!! What an awesome thing to wake up to!! Ok heres my crazy bold prediction. We just either cut/lost bussey, swinney is rumored to be decommitting, we were in his top 5 and i remember at one time a lot of us thought we would land him. Drew flips Eric Swinney and hes our big fish NSD commit!!

Does Richmond end up a Left or Right Tackle in College? His foot speed and pass blocking skills has me believing he will fit best at LT.
LT, and the great thing about this is Richmond is already SEC size at 320lbs. Jack Jones is going to need a year or two in the S&C program to get there. If Blair is a bust, I can see the staff inserting Richmond if he handles his business.

Some will point to Kendrick or Kerbyson, but I'm not sold on either of those guys at OT. They are probably OG's who had to play out of position, strictly out of need.

I think Richmond pushes Blair from day one. And I expect Charles Mosley to get a look at starting RT.

Richmond is not ready, and needs a RS. He has a ton of potential, but I f he beats out Blair this season, we have problems.

You don't know that. You are simply basing your statement (and saying it as if it is established fact...when it is not) on what normally occurs. I'm sure you said the very same thing about Derek Barnett. Juan James probably "wasn't ready" by most people's standards, but out of need, he was handed the starting role, and did very well.

Coleman Thomas never played OT before, and as a TF, I can see why he'd struggle. He's only played C in High School....a position I hope he returns to, this year (hope he beats out undersized Crowder).

I'm not counting on Richmond starting, but again, he has the talent and the size. Even the staff doesn't yet know if he'd be ready to start if needed. So, stop pretending to know more than our own staff does in this regard.

Actually, I am basing it on reports from recruiting sites which say he has a high ceiling, but needs time to develop. Also reports from the all-star game, in which he had some trouble, though this is common with OL in that setting, but go ahead and tell me more about my post

couldn't have said it better myself. i don't know why some people always have to be negative. why don't we all hope our 5 star recruits come in and play like 5 stars for once rather than saying they're not ready and should be redshirted.

the day i want my 5 star recruit to be redshirted is when i know there is a better player ahead of em. till then, i think we should expect Drew to come in and start from day 1 (just like Barnett, Hurd, and Jashon did last year).

You sound like Mickey Hyams. Lighten up.

They ALWAYS say a player needs time to develop. That's normal protocol for a HS senior. But what they don't know is just how much need a team has and how well they will perform once they get on campus.

Look at Jashon Robertson, as well. EVERYBODY and their grandmother was stating dogmatically, as you do, that he's going to redshirt, for sure.

How many times have you heard Butch say it, himself....that different players develop at different rates? So, what part of that don't you get?

It's not like his opinion is farfetched. The EXPERTS say he will need a lot of time to develop. They may be wrong, but all accounts are that he needs time. You may be right as well and he won't need much time. However, that is incredibly rare for a LT. Always gotta be a jerk to make your point though
