Butch could get Pete Carrol to commit to the run game on the goal line.

Sadly If Butch committed to the run we might have won 2 more games last year (we had our own INTs against Oklahoma and Florida)

However all is forgiven!' Can't wait to see this guy in Orange. NSD can't get here fast enough

What a night. Stayed up way too late checking this thread feeling like a kid on Christmas morning. And that was just half of the fun!

I think after at least a red shirt year BUT I'm not so sure we get afforded that luxury if we have injuries and the talent void that we had last year. He maybe forced into service at some point next year.

If Richmond is as good as advertised he may be gone after three years anyway so I doubt he RS's unless he comes in out of shape.

100% agreed.

This is easily the best recruiting pull that I can remember when you consider the circumstances. Memphis kid that goes to basically an Ole Miss feeder school. Entire family was all Ole Miss. He was Freeze's top priority. Committed 6 months to a school that was less than an hour away while UT is close to 6 hours away.

And Butch still got it done. It looked like Michael Oher part II but Butch still ****ing did it. Damn what a hell of a recruiting class.

His family is mostly memphis fans... I know his dad likes TN too though. Other vol fans in his family too. Just FYI, that's all.

After a conversation last night with someone I truly trust this is what I found out.


1. CBJ made this a personal effort and a one man show, HIS.

2. He also refused to get involved with a certain person during the process. That was huge with the family which is surprising.

3. Another person told the family that Butch escorting DR into the BB game was violation. The family laughed.

4. There is a support person that was huge on this weekend with the mom. Once on campus he laid out DR entire future plan form academic to social.

CBJ is a miracle worker. Things started coming apart for OM when a lot of Memphis kids became unhappy. The most impressive thing CBJ did was mend his relationship with the MUS coaches. As I stated earlier the perso who did not make the trip was my major concern.

I didn't mean that they grew up OM fans, just meant that Freeze had them in his corner and that was a major obstacle in this recruitment.

Yea Blair couldn't get on the field when we literally had one of the worst lines in the country. I would not be surprised if Richmond jumps him.

That's the VN way. Richmond is very athletic but needs some developing. He needs a mean streak.

Richmond will be LT and Blair will be RT. Richmond is more mobile so he can defend against blindside passrushers while Blair is better in the run game. That's just my opinion because I refuse to believe Blair is worse than what we put on the field last year.
