Saw this kid in a spring scrimmage against Buckhorn Alabama and i was very impressed. I had no idea he had this kind of potential. I thought he was an incoming sophomore but he could definitely throw the ball and seemed calm under center. Hope he develops and turns into a bigtime quarterback.

He is 2014, actually. He played at two different middle schools from 7th-8th grade. He has since been at 3 different high schools, culminating him being back at Lancaster Christian for the 2nd time. I do not think any of the moves have to do with him getting in trouble. However, there are some issues behind the scenes. As far as what level of QB he is, I do not know. I have not seen him play since the 8th grade.

Tennessee extends new 2015 in-state offer

Tennessee extended an offer on Tuesday to 2015 in-state quarterback Matt Williams of Lancaster Christian Academy. I'll have a full story, but Williams obviously is elated and got word of the offer from the Vols' head coach today during an after-school workout.

Williams' junior season stats are video game-like, and he set a state record this year with 617 passing yards in a game. He told me he's a new training program modeled after the NFL Combine training regimen many players use and that his most recent size is nearly 6-3, 208.

Mods, can we get title changed to '15? thanks

Where's this guys junior tape at?

And does anyone know what kind of completion he plays against?

I remember Buck talking about this kid in October. Said he re-classified and has a laser.

If he was "elated" I like our chances. But let's not rush to anything. We can cherry pick who we want at QB. We have a lot to sell to those guys.

There seems to be some connection between this kid, Josh Malone, and Jack Jones according to some posters on VQ.

"Matt is going to be a tremendous qb prospect. He has a very quick release, very good arm strength. Good athletic ability so he can fit into any system. But he is a passer first for sure. I think he will be a very high level recruit."

More from Buck...

Good football IQ. He calls his own plays. And his qb coach has coached many college and a couple pro qbs. Matt reminds me of Ferguson a lot actually. He is going to be a bigtime recruit.

Interesting buck mentions Fergie. Could be reading into it too much but not bad for Buck to think Fergie and Matt are big time QB prospects. In sure he has relayed that to josh
