'15 TN WR Van Jefferson

No offense but clearly our strength this year is the run game, but UGA has always been known to run a balanced offense. This year is not the norm of what our team does.

also this is the reason that UGA repeatedly puts rbs in the NFL whether they make it or not because they are a run first team. no offense again but its fact. Besides or since AJ Green who else has had a successful career at wr at UGA?

Everything I've read on GA sites have him as a huge lock and not wavering a bit... something isn't adding up here, Conley do you think he is going to flip? I mean if he hates the offense he's committed to then what is the hold up?

Van is from a great family and things won't happen on impulse decision making. He has already sat down with his mom(aka the key deciding and most influential person on his decision) and told her he really doesn't want to be at UGA. See what UGA did was sell his mom on he would be looked out for by Rocker. Well in recruiting you have to let momma know Van and Rocker will never be around each other except in passing. In college its big boy ball in the SEC and no longer high school. Defense is defense and offense is offense 2 separate worlds. So now it gives him leeway to open up and make a firm decision for himself because his dad is 100% UT and loves CBJ to death. So just be patient and let the month or so play out he has told me personally he wants to flip but I'll say this I take things kids say in recruiting with a grain of salt but I don't mind sharing them either unless asked not to.

LMAO not at all my friend but that was funny. I want my kids to always go where they are comfortable and where their heart is regardless of who my ties are to and where I go watch football at on Saturdays in the Fall.

Thanks for bringing your input to the board. There are many of us who appreciate your updates and thoughts on players. Keep bringin' it.

Yes sir. Thanks a bunch!

I consider Van a Tennessee kid and very much want to keep him home. Love his game and wish him well wherever he ends up. Sounds like he has a tough decision.

Clearly this is what happened but it is also very surprising to me at the same time considering the father is a coach at the highest level. If anything he should be the one who is most influential in a decision like this. Hopefully in the end the kid takes advantage of having a father like that when making a final decision. Most kids don't have someone as knowledgeable and experienced from a football standpoint to lean on like that.

And great point about the SEC being big boy football and the whole Rocker thing. Like you said that contact will be nothing more than in passing. Assistants at this level don't have time to babysit all the kids on the roster.

Man look I didn't make anything up I said. Van is saying this. In the past like I spoke to Van and said name me 5 WR that UGA has put in the NFL in the last 10 years. AJ Green is the only one worth a mention meanwhile UT has continue to put them in the NFL year after year coach after coach. No offense to UGA but a balanced offense if throws to the fb and te and a wr throw here or there. Ask MArlon Brown how well he developed from his time at UGA to now. A rookie FA WR and coming out of HS he was way better than that. Also how has Rumph (11 catches in 2 years) developed. I show my kids facts and stats not opinions on who I'm a fan of.
I never said you made it up, I simply made an opinion about a statement I don't believe is true. UGA has always had a balanced offense.

If you're good enough to get in the league the NFL will find you regardless of where you go to school. Going to an SEC will help tremendously but it is not a guarantee.

Brown had a problem staying healthy but was very effective when he was on the field. Same is true with Rumph, he just can't get healthy. It's not because they did not get an opportunity.

I see it more as a run to set up the pass kind of offense.

AJ is an elite player that was going to end up in the NFL regardless of where he went to school.

They can't stay healthy because they are essentially slim offensive linemen. :)

assuming we could land both, who would you rather get? Jefferson or Slayton?

I'd go Jefferson because he is an instate kid but really its so close I'd be equally thrilled with either.

Jefferson is obviously very polished but Slayton seems to be a more explosive athlete with the versatility to play either side of the ball.

Jefferson but we may could take both at this point due to Williams injury

How are we going to fit so many people... I've heard maybe 2 more WRs another RB 2 OTs 2 CBs... and we are already way over the limit.
