Peterman has been written off by too many. Football has seen many achieve greatness at the most inopportune times. The kid is not a quitter like the other one.
Cannot wait to see this kid play at UT. Our QB depth is going to be better than it has been in a long time. Dobbs, QD, Gibson and JJ. Boom!
People are putting to much stock into Dobbs' performance last year as a true freshman. The coaching staff had every intention of redshirting Dobbs and he was only getting reps with the scout team the majority of the season. Due to injuries of everyone else on the roster he was thrown to the wolves. Dobbs is by far the most intelligent QB we have had since Manning and now he is actually getting to learn every aspect of the offense and is taking 1st and 2nd team reps. From all reports he has worked his butt off this off season and has gone anywhere he can to get better at his craft. I think he is going to surprise a lot of the naysayers and even many of his supporters. I, for one, am truly excited about the future of this young VFL.
His throwing motion is a big part of what made him innacurate. He threw like a pitcher would throw with his wind up (which he was a former pitcher). He is not the only qb who grew up a pitcher who threw like that.
If you bring the ball down by your waist and throw a football like a pitcher would throw a baseball, it makes it very hard to throw a spiral. If you don't throw a spiral it makes it very hard to accurately project the ball exactly where you want it to go. And with the speed of the NFL, it's a game of inches and having that issue meant being off by at least a couple of inches almost every throw. Couldn't last like that.
Peyton has a consistent release. He throws plenty of spirals. Even when he doesn't he can still project the ball well because of his his release and footwork. He does throw a pretty ball plenty. No one throws a perfect spiral on every throw.Tell Peyton Manning that he doesn't throw the prettiest balk in the world but very accurate
Really starting to think that Dormady we'll be the guy to complete this class and this team down the road. Even if you're brimming with talent across the board, if you're not truly solidifying the qb spot, it's hard to actually win an NC and reach you're full potential. Ask LSU, post Matt Flynn.
It appears Dormady is lengths above the current QB talent now on our squad. If Ferguson had stayed, the battle for The spot in 2015 would have been interesting. I look forward to the future.
