We're talking about QBs and that response has been refuted by actual facts. Off the top of my head, I think there are less than three QBs with a rumored Wonderlic score of under 20, if that. All others had higher than 20.
And yet the percentage of NFL starters with scores under 20 is much higher for skill positions that require little aptitude (kick returning, corner backs, etc...). So yeah, whether or not you could be legally classified as being mentally retarded does matter if you want to be an NFL quarterback.
Call me crazy, but I think most teams value knowing whether the QB prospect they're about to invest in -- and who will be entrusted with learning a 50+ page playbook -- is literate and capable of performing basic math problems.
3. QB Quinten Dormady (Boerne) Committed to Tennessee
This was the first time for me to see Dormady throw in person and I am now a believer. He has a large base that precedes his upper body in development, something that is likely from his shoulder injury as a junior. Dormady has a good release point despite being tall and throws his deep ball with consistency and touch. Timing routes will come in time.
Quinten Dormady was named one of the top offensive performers in the Texas state 7 on 7 tournament. Here is what they said:
State 7-on-7 Top Performers
I'm not worried about interviewing skills....Dude seems motivated and ready to work. Excited to see how his senior season goes.Seems like a good kid. Needs to work on his interviewing skills, kind of all over the place there. But he looks like he throws a good ball. Definitely gonna get stronger, gonna really enjoy seeing who unsuccessfully comes after him.

I disagree. He's not much of a talker, but he's 100% not intimidated by the camera like a lot of recruits are.
Don't ask me why, because I honestly couldn't tell you, but I have a gut feeling that kid is absolutely fearless. Just completely non-phased by pressure. We'll revisit this in a couple years, I'm sure, but I have this feeling that he's got a quality we haven't seen since the Iceman: He's clutch.

I like that he shut it down but I would still like to take a few visits. Its not every day that kids get a chance to go through the recruiting process. He could still be solid to the VOLS and still take some visits.
