'16 All American Bowl Games

Bowl Season is starting up today, so that means it's time to get this one rolling. I honestly haven't been paying attention as much this year, so I am interested in seeing how we will be represented this year. Last year we had some top recruits do well in a few of these games. 2014 as well.

I will be updating and adding a lot to this thread this coming week, but for now here is a quick breakdown of some games/dates/players in the major games this year.

2016 Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas

North Carolina dominated the 79th annual Shrine Bowl at Wofford College Saturday, winning 54-39 against South Carolina on Saturday.

North Carolina QB and Oklahoma commit Austin Kendall won North Carolina’s Offensive MVP honors by throwing for 203 yards on 14 of 17 passing and three touchdowns

Rico Dowdle scored on a 15-yard run to make it 28-12 with 1:09 left in the first quarter.

Hope Butch uses Army All American game to get a big nationally televised commit (ala Kyle Phillips last year) to springboard a successful last month of the 2016 cycle.

Does anyone know if our targets are thinking about announcing at any of these games. It seems like we are in on a decent amount of good recruits but if they all wait too long to pull the trigger is there a chance they lose faith in the class and lower their probability to commit.

I like that we have Osborne (already signed) and Guarantano (all in), both at the UA game. They need to put the press on Dickerson.

I agree. He would be a huge get. It's a shame we don't have a single commit in the army game but so many targets. It would be huge to get a commit at that game that will be in the ears of all the other players they develop relationships with

I have been looking all over for a list of who will be announcing live, but haven't found much of anything. I will update as it becomes known, but it seems like a lot of guys are waiting for NSD this year.

You'd think some would jump at the chance to announce live on national tv, assuming they know where they want to go.

I know many do get to be on ESPNU for NSD but I'd think there are more eyeballs for these games.

Yea its interesting to follow these announcements this time of year because you know the bowl games try to get some of the high profile kids to announce live. I seem to remember a lot of scheduled announcements being pushed back last minute last year and I wonder if that's why we haven't heard as much this time around. I'm sure twitter will be putting out a lot of mis-information soon hah

I actually think they are just guessing at some of their best offers/where they are leaning. I was looking thru the roster and I don't believe that's been updated too frequently to be honest.

All I can find so far is that Austin Reed kicked a 32 yard game winner, 37-34 American. OD has a youtube channel that is streaming games, but they don't seem to have the final up yet.
