UT offered Parker on 8/15/15. He decommitted from UCLA on 7/15/15. According to JHop on 247, Oregon was the real contender in his recruitment and a big reason for backing away from his commitment to UCLA. However, to date, he has not received that Oregon offer.

Another position that seems in the crosshairs of this staff is cornerback. The Vols have a standout in Marquill Osborne and another possible corner in TaDarryl Marshall, Tennessee would like more help there. That's why the offers to California cornerback Jordan Parker and South Carolina corner Troy Pride.

It's worth remembering that two of Tennessee's top corner targets, Khalil Ladler and Nigel Knott, recently suffered knee injuries.

despite not having an offer currently, pittsburg (calif.) four-star defensive back jordan parker is high on the oregon program.

"i definitely want that oregon offer," parker said. "i'm just waiting on them right now. They told me they are trying to juggle around the numbers to see where things are at. An offer from oregon will put them in that top group."

currently the nation's no. 151 overall player has two official visits planned. Parker will visit oklahoma oct. 3 and tennessee sept. 19. Beyond that no visit plans have been made.

"i would definitely visit oregon if that is in the cards. I'm just waiting to hear from them."

the vols recently made an offer to parker which immediately pushed them into his top group.

"i recently started talking with them and they offered. I really need to get out there to see the sec and tennessee and see what it's all about."

From Pittsburg, Claif., has booked his official visit to Tennessee for the Western Carolina game.

A former UCLA commit, there's honestly no telling where Parker's recruitment is headed. He's very tough to read and doesn't say much but I'll do my best to figure it out in and around the visit.

You think he wants that Oregon offer?

You have to remember most these West Coast kids have no idea how big a deal Tennessee is. They haven't seen the traditions, stadium, facilities, fans, etc. Oregon is a huge deal out there because of their recent success and the Nike money. I think if this kid comes on a visit he understands that an opportunity to play for UT is a huge deal. It does annoy me when a kid slobbers all over a program that hasn't even offered them.

At defensive back, Tennessee has made some moves on the West Coast this week. Four-star cornerback Jordan Parker will officially visit for the Western Carolina game with a visit date to Oklahoma set for October. It seems the Vols have quickly become a factor there.

One thing you may notice is that all the visitors expected in are unofficial visitors. Look for Tennessee to host California cornerback Jordan Parker on an official visit next weekend. There could be another additional official visitor or two as well.
