'16 FL CB Tyler Byrd (UT Commit 2/2/16)

If you want more of my comparisons for our potential recruits, here it is:

Jarrett Guarantano = Colin Kaepernick
Derrick Brown = Nick Fairley
Jonathan Kongbo = taller Carl Lawson
Tyler Byrd = Dez Bryant/Jalen Ramsey

Non-Tennessee recruits:
Rashan Gary = Warren Sapp
BJ Emmons = Ezekiel Elliot


That's who each of these guys remind me of after watching their tape.

At least get the same size people together

I don't trust the measurements colleges give out. Let alone high school measurements. Gary looks 6'3.5". Maybe 6'4" at the most. No way he's 6'5".

Remember all these guys list themselves 1-1.5" taller so they can get more offers and interest from colleges.

I still remember Nick Fairley being listed as 6'5" at Auburn then measuring 6'3.5" at the combine.

Lol also Brown is about 20-30 lbs heavier as a high school senior than Fairley was entering the NFL draft.


That being said, I see him as a bit of a Mean
Joe Green/Reggie White/Ndomukong Suh mix with dashes of Joe Montana thrown in for good mixture.

Probably the best DL to ever set foot on a gridiron. I watch a bunch of football, so I'd know.

I'm joking. But not really. I don't even know what shape a football is but I wouldn't make the Lawson and Sapp comparisons.

Otherwise, Byrd reminds me of a younger Pernell Whittaker, Brown could double as Evil Knievel and Emmons is the spitting image of Rough Rider era Teddy Roosevelt.

But I may be doing this wrong.

True statement. I'm a legit 6'4 in college I was listed as a 6'6 small forward. Not to mention Jarnell Stokes at was listed at 6'9 really about 6'6. Same Maymon listed 6'6 probably 6'4.

I'm 19, so I'm of the generation they are. I can only speak for myself here, but I'd hate to be badgered by people I don't know for info on a life changing decision like that. I'm of the Beast Mode mindset, "I'm just here so I won't get fined." But in their position, they don't have to talk to anybody. So I wouldn't.

I highly doubt this. This is the first taste of stardom for most of these kids.
When I was being recruited I would talk to any reporter that wanted to talk.

It is a great time in their lives. If he really cut off certain group of Miami reporters, he's a vol. He just doesn't want to face a group of guys he's been talking with weekly for a year or so.
