Not sure what you are getting at, but Janzek stated publicly that that they (defensive staff) played their starters WAY too many snaps...because they couldn't trust their backups. So, with that in mind, Byrd and Osborne are the types of Freshmen who can come in and be solid rotational players...rather than having to RS.

The point is that it's nice to have elite talent across the board, so that the starters can be rotated enough that they are good to go in the late 3rd and 4th Qtr's...where we wilted in all 4 losses.

Skeeter said the coaches felt good about Brown, Bryd, Warrior, and the DE from Canada. And that his source hadn't heard much about Dickerson. At least that's what I remember him saying.

Bottom line is we felt good going into this weekend and Bryd had a 10 out of 10 OV. With CFA being there during the dead period as a constant Vol recruiter, it will be hard for Miami to hold off Tennessee.

No. I think he is trying to decide whether or not he wants to play College Football at UT or Miami. Both are legitimate choices for the young man, whether we as UT fans want to see it or not.

OCI isn't.

I don't know if Eazy is or not, but I don't rely on him for info.

The funny thing with insiders is watching them piggy-back each other's information.

GFW is the only one I listen to. He may not be batting 1.000 but he's dang close to it.

messages this afternoon with top-100 cornerback Tyler Byrd, the Miami commitment from Naples (Fla.) High School, and he said he doesn't know yet when he might announce his final decision. It sounds like there's a chance he won't announce anything today. He said he's basically taking it easy right now.

No big surprise here, but Byrd said he won't be doing any interviews before announcing his final decision. That's pretty typical this time of year, so don't be alarmed by that. But, in case anyone was wondering why we haven't heard anything from Byrd since his visit to Tennessee over the weekend, that's the explanation.

The fact that he has gone quiet is usually a good sign for the school trying to flip him. In general, it usually means he wants to avoid the drama from the spurned schools fans because they will catch enough heat on signing day.

No telling but the fact that he's gone quiet does indicate he's thinking about flipping. If he announced it now, I wouldn't want to be him. Just wait until signing morning and do it.

Once the papers are signed all the calls immediately stop.

I agree, silence this late in the game normally doesn't bode well for the team they are flipping from. Vol.

it wouldn't suprise me if Butch or ESPN has asked Byrd to wait till NSD. There would be lots of buzz about the #1 athlete on ESPN signing with TN.
