16' GA ATH/DB Mecole Hardman

Hardman has had a strong Georgia lean for a long time. You can tell in all his public statements that he favors UGA. He is one recruit that we'd have a decent shot at flipping over to us if Mark Richt were fired. Otherwise, can't see it happening.

Hardman is a GA boy. He lives close to UGA campus and I'm sure knows a lot more people at UGA than UT.

I hope he doesn't go to UGA and we get him but if he lived 15 min from Knoxville some of you would be total opposite.

He's always representing UGA gear.

I don't think we have a shot unless someone like Kyle Davis or some kind of friend comes here. That's JMO and the feeling I get regarding him.

I don't think he would even lead his hometown team on at all if he was leaning our way.

Hope I'm wrong

Yeah because Richt hasnt put any good players in the NFL. SMH.
A lot of the players he put in the NFL are severely underrated come draft time because they aren't used properly at UGA. Justin Houston should've been a top 5 pick, same with Geno Atkins, Cordy Glenn was way underrated as was Clint Boling. The list can go on and on. You can say he puts players in the NFL, but you can't say the success or lack thereof at Georgia doesn't affect their draft stock. I guess you could say the same about Justin Coleman here under Butch, but Ja'Wuan was drafted in a great spot for a RT.

I would say a 1 point lead with less than 6 minutes in the game, and ultimately only losing by 5 points is pretty damn competitive. It made both Saban and Bama fans with a very worried look till the very end.

We had a kicker and we have a really good shot at winning that game.

If he really wants to stay close to home he should shock the world and go to Clemson (40 minutes away). They would actually figure out how to use him as opposed to UGA.

What about that 247 report makes y'all think he's a Georgia lock? Read the whole thing, guys.

Pollack being his favorite announcer and maybe helping him with broadcasting. Georgias excellent broadcasting program. He loves Pruitt. He loves Georgia. Relationship with coaches. Eason keeps in his ear. He feels very comfortable at Georgia. Georgia is close to home so his parents can see him play, which he said himself would be one of the biggest ressons he would pick them.

I have read the whole article. Have you? If so, what in that article leads you to believe he isnt a Georgia lock?

Richt can coach and routinely puts guys in the NFL. Thats really all that matters. I dont think a recruit should pick Georgia over us but I will not say its because he will not be coached properly. Thats just not true. Look at Gurley.

What are the odds Pruitt leaves for a HC job or possibly a coordinator in the NFL? Every year they talk about it and it never happens.

Do I need to remind that OV said "GA's to lose"?

OV certainly knows Georgia, but don't you think he would never hear the end of it if he even hinted at leaning towards another school? Also in that article posted today, he mentions thinking about "silent committing" to a school, why would he be silent about committing to Georgia? I am not saying he will not go to Georgia, just thought that might be an angle to consider.

I think OV is closer to this situation than even normal for him which is pretty darn close. Also, I think he was planning on silently committing to GA but has delayed it because of the recent turmoil at GA. I think he's one of those kids that will choose the home state school just about regardless of the situation. Kudos to him if that's indeed the case.

Yes, I have. I believe onus is on those make extraordinary claims to provide proof, not those thinking he's not "a lock" anywhere. I'm tired of that kind of BS language used in recruiting. I think, like the testiness of your above response, your reaction to his interview is a bit dramatic.

Why not keep asking each other this, though: Have you read the article?

I know you guys give me a lot of heat for this and I'm usually defensive about it, but in this case I agree. Most of the media here in the Atlanta area only cares about Georgia, this includes both the recruiting media and the traditional media (the local newspaper especially).

If he is only asked about Georgia, he's only going to talk about Georgia. I'm not sure who wrote this but I would imagine it's a Georgia team site.

I did an in-depth interview with Hardman last week where I asked about everything. You can watch it here.

As far as the silent commitment nonsense, there's a reason I've never written about it. Even if the kid does silently commit, he can still change his mind and unless he's not taking anymore visits, it really doesn't matter.

The situation at Georgia is weighing on him. I know that from several very close to him. Sure, they should be considered the team to beat, but Mecole has some legitimate worries.

It will be interesting to watch this one play out.
