By the way, where are all of the UGA fans around here that claim they hang out on Volnation due to the website's 'superior format'? I guess they were just trolls after all.

I bet most of the Gators fans on here will vanish like a fart in the wind when we finally end that streak.

That's the best possible outcome IMO. Let UGA hang onto Richt for another 2-3 seasons as he continues firing assistants and losing recruits. Eventually UGA is forced to let him go and the program has sunk so low that they have to hire their 3rd or 4th choice.

I wish but just don't see their roster sinking that low. There are just too many GA kids that want to play for UGA regardless.

This. I imagine Shott is as good as gone, although if UGA were to lose to UK this Saturday...well, I'm not sure Richt could survive that on top of the azz-whoopings McIlwein and Saban put on him, plus blowing a 21-pt lead to UT.

In retrospect, that punt return that should have been called back and stupid fumble return may benefit UT if it keeps Richt in Athens.

"i think it is great - look at david pollack - one of my favorite announcers," hardman said. "i like the way he does and then you see he came from georgia. I think they can help me in the field that i want to be in more than other programs because they are one of the top in the nation."

Don't forget that Peyton is also a UT Communications grad.

That's not a good thing. Hopefully they just re-tool the staff... again... and keep Richt.

ANYONE can recruit to UGA. They have a solid in state base of talented players who are also homers influenced by adult homers.

If they get rid of Richt then they might stumble on someone who can coach and run a disciplined program.

Good. If they get rid of Richt, I want them to get a great coach. That way when we continue to beat them, it will be that much better.

We need to stop fearing our rivals getting great coaches. I would be willing to bet that if we were looking for another coach, UGA wouldnt care.

Wasn't going to post this since it was hearsay, but to piggy back off of that article a poster in the VQ shared a recent interview with former UGA alum and NFL Hall of Famer Fran Tarkenton on a local radio show. Enjoy:

Fran "the Man" Tarkenton was one of my favorite QB's growing up. While I have always been a Colts fan, I also loved watching the Vikings when Fran was there.

I was wanting Richt to stay so Eason and co wouldn't end up at Florida. If that whole group is going to Michigan then who cares. I'd gladly sacrifice Hardman and whoever goes with Eason as long as Georgia or Florida get none of them.

Frankly, I'd rather win.

Sure they do.

It would make more sense if UT already had a coach that had proven he was "great". Right now, UT and Jones need absolutely every advantage they can get. If it is turmoil at UGA for 5 years... all the better.

UT's long term success will be built on effectively recruiting Ga for the foreseeable future. UT needs to be to Ga what OU used to be, and still is to a lesser extent, to Texas. At one time, OU and Texas split Texas HS talent and everyone else lived on the scraps.

It doesn't matter how you win, it mattes THAT you win. **** that, I hope they hire a ****ty coach that takes them right to the bottom.

TCU, Baylor, and Texas A & M certainly have made significant inroads on the recruiting grounds formerly claimed almost exclusively by Texas and Oklahoma. However, Oklahoma is still far more reliant on Texas talent than we are on Georgia boys. 51 Lone Star state residents are currently listed on the Oklahoma roster (Oklahoma Sooners 2015 Team Player Roster - College Football - ESPN), whereas we have 22 players on our roster from Georgia (Official Football Roster - University of Tennessee Official Athletic Site).

Brent Dougherty from 3hl in Nashville is pretty connected in college football and he said there is smoke about Richt being fired from what he has been told. I hadn't seen it mentioned. :hi:
