1)Woody Womack says that we lead. Hubbs and P Fort has been saying it is a Tennessee vs Auburn battle with UGA on the outside looking in for weeks. Guess you read only what you want to read to fit your narrative.
2) It has been explained countless times that those predictions are outdated and based on UGA with Mark Richt as their head coach. Again you seem to be picking and choosing what information to accept.
3) Pre Butch Jones, I would agree, but outside of Davonte Lambert flipping who have we lost to Auburn in a head to head battle since Butch has been running the show? Not to mention, Tennessee is coming off its worst 8 year stretch in its school's history. Auburn was in 2 title games winning one of those. Now we are the hot team and Auburn is experiencing some internal issues. Different day and different teams.

I don't know which posters are trolls or which ones suffer from battered wife syndrome, but either way it sucks trying to talk and bring information to this board only for every thread to turn into some hand wringing nonsense.

I feel weirdly confident about Brown for some reason. Pretty good vibes. But we'll see.

I've had the same strange confidence about Brown for a few months now, with no good reason until the last couple of weeks or so. Hope we are right.

I MIGHT put Lawson in this category. I could go either way. Butch didn't have a lot of time to recruit him, but he seemed to give us a legit shot and still chose Auburn. In the end, I also think we lead for Brown.

Appreciate the updates. I'd just try to remember that on a message board you get all kinds of people; sunshine pumpers, trolls, defeatists, etc. I try and take a balanced approach and I think most people do as well. I wouldn't let one category of poster sway my opinion of the board overall. :hi:

Cam Sutton-Stuck with his commitment even though he had little to no relationship with the incoming staff at the time
Preston Williams-wore UT gear during his visit
Dontavius Blair-was rated a 4 star JUCO that everyone wanted

Hell Butch came in late with no relationships built for the 2013 class and had Carl Lawson giving serious consideration to become a Vol when he wasn't even looking our way before a month and a half before signing day.

I could dig and name more.

You're right. It just blows my mind that on a board of supposed UT fans, that relatively good news could be brought on here and they still find a way to crap all over it. I read some of these updates and can't wait to share with fellow Vol fans. Then a day or so later, I'll click a thread and see a completely different narrative than what even people close to the program are saying. I guess it's not meant to be to understand everyone. I'll just filter through the rubbish and celebrate with other UT fans that don't have such a negative outlook on everything.

I have thought we would get Brown since the summer, and I still do. Come NSD, the Vols will have the best DL in the country, and that is what will bring us a ship.

I know I deff appreciate it when I open the forum and see a ton of new posts on these threads with your username as the last post because I know I'm about to read actual information instead of mostly irrelevant commentary, lol.

been around the recruiting block a long time. used to be subscriber to Scout, Rivals all that. Ive seen Garner and Steele time and again wreak havoc on Tennessee. That goes without saying. unlike LWS I do not keep a statistical spreadsheet of each UT class, but, I do follow as closely as time will allow. Its fun and interesting to say the least.

Remember not all of us are as informed. I appreciate the facts and information. There was a time when this stuff was covered by Sentinel or cascaded to free forums. So we plens who rely on this board ALSO very much appreciate the real facts, and, tire of the off season inside jokes...but, guess what? its a free forum for all. those yokels are having fun. I dont look down my snout at them bc i paid 9.99 for a rivals sub. Just a thought. Carry on.

The funny thing is that every question you asked had already been answered by people on volnation, in this very thread, multiple times in some cases. I knew everything that Sanddune said before he replied to your post, and I don't have a subscription to any of the recruiting websites. I don't need one because it all ends up here minutes after it gets posted on one of those sites.

Also, I don't really see where you're getting this Steele and Garner have 'wreaked havoc on UT' theory. Sure Garner has been a pretty good recruiter, but every opposing coach is going to get some recruits that UT is also after. Just the nature of the game. Steele on the other hand, I can't even think of many guys he has beat us out for (although I'm sure there are some), but "wreaked havoc"? C'mon now.

You asked which recruit Auburn beat us for besides Lambert right? Would Davis not qualify there?

I'm not bashing the staff's past recruiting, but it's not a slam dunk for the good guys when we go against the tiggers.

I still think we get Derrick brown.. He's been considering us for a while now, he's visited us multiple time since the summer so he's not one of these kids that just randomly pop up and shows some interest and commits elsewhere. We have a legit shot here, and I think we get him.
