Jones and Dormady better really do some work and take advantage of their head start. Neither is close to JG in raw talent.

I'm excited about JG too, but I think a lot of people are underestimating Jones. Like JG, he is a great fit for the system and could be a lot of fun to watch.

He's a more athletic Dobbs with a stronger arm. He's going to put up ridiculous numbers in this offense.

I completely agree with you except in terms of elusiveness, but we're not going to require very much of that soon.

Very excited this guy.

JG making moves. Colin Kapernick is the best comparison I have seen for him. The guy is a great football player but an even better athlete.

Guarantano is the No. 2 dual-threat quarterback according to the 247Sports Composite and tested on Wednesday as the most athletic signal-caller to ever attend The Opening, finishing with an all-time high Nike Football Rating for the position of 120.06, including a 4.65 laser-timed 40-yard dash and a ridiculous 4.08 shuttle at 6-foot-4, 194-pounds.

Texas commit Buechele continues to lead at Elite 11

I predict JG will move up to a 6.0 4* on Rivals, somewhere around 30-35th in the nation, and a 96-97 4* on 247.

A big senior season will lift him to 5*.

Honestly I'm not underestimating Jones. I've long thought he looked better in the available video than Dormady. I think he looks like a very talented guy. But other than some weight and the bad attitude... JG looks like Terrell Pryor. Imagine the arm and accuracy of Bray with a level head and wheels.

I'm not down on Jones or Dormady for that matter. I'm just very, very high on Guarantano.

I wonder if tonight will be live because the schedule has them playing superbad and right now they are playing Alpha Pro and tonight's coverage says they play Super Bad.

It sounds like Guarantano is trying to do too much in this afternoons game. 4 bad overthrows trying to show off his arm mixed in with some good throws. Probably just needs to learn how to add a bit more touch to drop it in instead of laser rockets all day.

That was actually Dilfer's one critique on his game. Needs to add touch and not try to just muscle every throw with pure strength.

I saw him as more of an athlete, than a passer. Last year's passing statistics were pedestrian. Also, dual threat QB's are often guys who can throw a little, but run more often. I want my QB to be able to throw.

It seems my concerns were off base.

Evidently JG has worked on his throwing, cause he's been really solid this week. A good senior year and he's a 5*.

Luke Stampini...

QB Jarrett Guarantano takes a shot deep to Binjimen Victor (but) fires it 5 yards out of bounds.

Jarrett Guarantano connects with Binjimen Victor on back to back crossing routes.

Guarantano hits Devin Duvernay on a post for a good (gain). Christian Wallace in coverage.

Guarantano over shoots Darnell Salomon on the next snap.

Guarantano to Victor again on the sidelines
Next throw nearly picked off by Sewo Olonilua over the middle.

Binjimen Victor gets open on a post and Guarantano over throws him.

Guarantano threw three over throws to turn the ball over on downs.

Binjimen Victor gets open on a post, Guarantano takes a shot at him with a good throw, but Traveon Beck holds Victors arm to draw the PI.

Guarantano to Victor again before the half but a drop by Victor. Likely wouldn't have stayed in bounds on the fade attempt.
