I thought that he was definitely visiting and bringing Walker, Fuller and Mitchell with him. What happened?
Have you seen any of the freshmen practice? Or are you just guessing based on high school film?
Some of both. From available video, Jones definitely seems to throw the ball better than Dormady.... and that's not really a knock on Dormady. He threw some impressive balls in the O&W game and practices.
IMHO, I think it would have been a waste of a scholarship to take Jones if he were not thought to be a better talent than the two that were already committed. But Butch and Co were willing to risk losing both Dormady and Jennings to get S Jones.

fine local TN PD, don't get your hopes up on a speedy process.
Then there is the whole, we only had one scholarship QB on the roster.
I think they took Jones because they were able to get a top notch QB rather than using a Scholly and settling for a lower tier one right off the bat. We have to have four QB's. If it hadn't worked out with Jones, Then we would have looked at lower tier QB's. I think the other two knew that too.
Whichever of those three get the starting spot, They will be the starter when JG gets here. It will be up to him to dethrone them.
All JMO of course.
Dobbs will be the starting QB when Guarantano gets here.
Yeah...I know. He will have a back up. That back up will be named the starter when Dobbs leaves. They will not just hand the starting position to JG....... just because. He'll have to earn it, regardless of what all of us armchair coaches say.
My hope is that we won't see enough of the 2015 backup to truly gauge their talent unless it's because we are blowing out opponents.
Guarantano is an EE, and I'd venture to guess he will be given every opportunity to earn that backup role to Dobbs in 2016. I wouldn't just assume that one of Dormady/Jones/Jennings will be named the backup automatically in 2016 just because they were the backup in 2015. I think it will be a full-blown, 4-way competition (assuming no one transfers or switches positions) throughout 2016 spring practice, summer workouts, and fall camp.
I say that because I feel Dobbs is the best type of QB for CBJ's system, and I think Guarantano most resembles Dobbs style of play and athletic ability. That said, it doesn't mean that Dormady, Jones, or Jennings can't beat him out. I just don't think they have an unquestioned leg up on him heading into spring 2016 unless one is forced into extensive action, and is mildly successful in 2015. Let's hope we still don't know that answer six months from now.

You are right. If he was not an athlete he would already be charged with the burden of proving his innocence. Funny how there are questions about whether college athletes should be charged or not when other students and citizens are charged first then let the chips fall where they may.
