I would have agreed with you just a few months ago. But the more I watch Dormady the more I think he pushes hard for playing time. Dobbs is one of the best QB's in the SEC right now. And the skill-set that he has really promotes our motion, read-option aspect of our offense. But we have to get those defenders out of the box. That happens with good play-calling in quick pass completions. Our Wr's have to win 1 on 1 bttles more often.
A couple of things on JG - who I have not forgotten is just an upcoming HS senior.
- throws at one speed. Defenses worth their salt can key on that and disrupt or offense pretty easily. He can be coached to have more touch and change-up throws from different platforms.
- Needs quicker feet in his drop. Ive see this in his tape and it's still an issue at The Opening event. Dormady has quicker feet than him in his drop back. This can be coached as well.
Outside of that, we have a big strong athletic QB that can really chew up yardage quickly- through the air and on the ground. Dude can probably throw it 70 yards. He's a phenom.
