UT has offered. This recruit has narrowed hist lists down to 3 schools now. Louisville, UT, & Michigan. That's his top 3 for most recruiting services. Scout has these same 3 schools but in a slightly different order of preference.

Louisville is listed as his favorite as of right now. Would be a good fallback RB just in case we lose Trey Coleman or any other RB. However, that 40 time(4.84) isn't very fast. Don't know when that was taken but it's slow for a guy his size which should have more speed than that.

I like Felix better.

I do also but actually like Cam Akers better than them all at RB for 2017. It's just not looking likely at all for us getting him though.

Williams would be another backup plan thing in case we can't get the RB(s) we want. Chandler is already on board but we could use a solid one-two punch for the future.

We already have Trey Coleman who is similar. Felix offers that Alvin Kamara dimension (slot and RB)

Much higher priority than Williams and equal to Akers from a scheme standpoint.

I've not forgotten about Trey Coleman guys. Just backup plans in place in case of you know what. The releases or letting players out of committment thing from CBJ. Any of you heard of the RB Travis Etienne?

Ron Swanson said the 3 RB's we're going hard after now are Felix, Akers, & Etienne. Look Travis Etienne up on 247 Sports. He's just as good if not better than Felix & not far behind Akers in my opinion. Coleman might end up being in that mix of players let go.

You just never know. I say this especially because of what Ron Swanson posted that we're hard after 3 different RB's right now. Of course, we're probably only going to take one of those 3 though RB's in the end.

Damon Williams in this thread is likely to end up at Louisville anyhow.

I really like Etienne's film as well. I think he should be a welcome addition with or without Akers. Someone should start a thread for him.

We don't already have an individual recruit thread for him(Etienne)? I thought we did but I'll check to make sure.

I say this somewhat in jest:

Are we gonna sign 4-5 RBs in this class?

That's very very doubtful. I'm just throwing out names. Something weird though is going on. We already have Chandler & Coleman for the 2017 class as RB's.

However, we are going after about 4 RB's really hard right now. Nope, that's not saying we're going to sign or get all 4 of them to come to Knoxville.

If we end up keeping Coleman in which I think we will end up doing that then it will definitely only be 1 more RB for the 2017 class.

That would be 3 RB's for 2017. I would be surprised if we took 4+ RB's. 3 is a solid possibility & 4 is a much lower possibility.

If we keep Coleman we will have Chandler & hopefully we can get Etienne or Felix but I prefer Etienne myself over the other 3 RB's we're still currently going after pretty hard but I would settle for Felix or Akers of course. Akers is a low low chance of being a Vol now it appears though.

The staff is missing quite often this cycle. They are pushing for at least 4 backs in hopes of landing one of the 4. Just what they have to do.

We don't necessarily need 4 RB's though Crunchy for the 2017 class. We already have a couple of decent ones on board & things are looking better for all positions come 2018 & 2019 especially in-state recruiting.

We're not taking 4. That's not what I was saying. Chandler, Coleman, plus 1 more is it IMO.

Named Class 7A 1st-team all state this week despite rushing for just 1,139 yards & 9 TDs for the year. Was hampered by a high ankle sprain sustained during the 1st game, then missed a game and was gimpy in the next few contests. In the 7 games for which I found stats, Williams averaged 6.3 yards per carry.

Ranked 25th this week by The Tuscaloosa News in their Most Wanted Recruits in Alabama list.

Do you know if we're still actively recruiting Williams or not? Thanks!
