The three-star rising senior quarterback from Hawkins High School in Los Angeles made the cross-country trip to Knoxville on Thursday to participate in the Vols camp, and while he didnt come away with a scholarship offer from them, they made it clear theyre taking a hard look at him.
Lemle, who holds offers from Boston College and Utah in addition to Idaho, said Tennessees coaches told him that hes one of the top three quarterbacks who could get a scholarship offer from them in the coming weeks.
I just wanted to come down and take a visit, said Lemle, whos ranked the No. 134 prospect from California in the 247Sports Composite for the 2017 class. Theyve been in my top (group) for about a few months now, so I just wanted to come down here and compete in their camp and take a visit to the campus and see the facilities.
I got some good feedback. They said Im in the top three in their list on who theyre going to offer, so Im just waiting on all the camp dates to finish to see what decision theyre going to make.
They have two more camps, so after the two more camps, theyre going to look at all the film of all the quarterbacks theyre looking at and make a final decision.
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Lemle said Tennessee coach Butch Jones and his staff, including offensive quality control assistant Nick Sheridan and offensive coordinator Mike DeBord, liked what they saw from him during Thursdays camp.
