"I came up just to visit Tennessee. We left Wednesday, visited Thursday and came home on Friday," Vinson said, explaining the details of his trip. "I just wanted my parents to see the school and the campus and meet all the coaches and just talk to coach (Butch) Jones a little more and coach (Don) Mahoney, too. We stayed with family because I have a lot of family that lives in Tennessee and in Knoxville."
"Tennessee is a school I really like. They are one of my top schools, even though I haven't come out with a top list of schools or anything yet," Vinson said. "I just really wanted my mom to see the campus because once the season starts I'm super busy and they're super busy and it would have been hard to get back up there and spend time with the coaches. I want to get back up there for a game but even for a game you don't have a lot of time to spend with the coaches."
"Mainly just the time the coaching staff spent with us. We got to meet with coach Jones for more than 20 minutes and coach Mahoney for over an hour," Vinson said. "These guys are so busy and for them to take time to talk to me is pretty cool. Then, I got to watch the team work out and they were doing some things on the field and I had never seen those things. So, it was cool to see them in the weight room and working."
"Right now, I'm just mainly focused on my season," Vinson said. "I'll try and come out with a top five or top 10 after my season. My goal is to commit before my senior season, or I could see myself committing even before then, too. But, right now, I'm not really focused on that."
