There is little doubt that Tennessee has recruited outstanding receivers during the three cycles under Butch Jones.

Looking down the road a bit, the Vols could be in line to land one of the best rising junior receivers in the country.

During an on-site interview on Tuesday, receiver Rodney Scott (Miami, Fla./Southridge) praised Tennessee and said that the Vols were his early leader over Miami (Fla.), Georgia and Florida State.

"They pass the ball a lot and they have big receivers," Scott said, adding that he has been in contact with Vols receivers coach Zach Azzanni. “He’s a cool guy, I like him."

Miami currently is his only verbal offer, though more certainly are on the way. Scott said the Canes were his "dream school" growing up, even though they do not currently lead for his services.

Alabama, Auburn and Ohio State also are showing early attention.

Wow, the hudl film is very impressive. Looks like a great route runner for a guy his age with some CP-esque moves

Last week, Florida wide receivers coach Kerry Dixon visited Miami (Fla.) Southridge. The Gators assistant did not leave campus without handing out an offer.

“He came to the school and liked me,” 2017 Top247 wide receiver Rodney Scott explained. “Then he came to the practice and offered me then.”

The offer for the 6-foot, 170-pound Scott was one he wanted.

“One of my dream offers I was hoping to get,” Scott said of the Florida tender. “I really like them. They are a great school. It’s going to be one of my top three choices.”

Scott plans to visit several campuses this summer, in particular, he wants to visit one in the SEC that leads the way in his recruitment.

“I especially want to go to Tennessee. That’s the college I want to go to. I like that college, great campus, great coaches.” `

How good is this kid HG?

Btw, I'm headed down to Miami this summer with a friend who runs an MMA camp. We are going to see one of Dada's backyard events. Have you every gone?

Despite living out his childhood as a fan of the nearby University of Miami, Scott says he has no front-runners in his recruitment and continues to do his homework on schools, but admits that he's hoping to capture an offer from Butch Jones and the Tennessee Volunteers.
