There are under the radar players and then there are the forgotten players – players no one has heard of before for one reason or another. Clemons is all of the above. During his junior year in high school a move from Texas to Oklahoma put his season on the shelf. One game into his senior season a groin injury put him on the sidelines making him a great unknown but someone with the potential to make a lot of noise in the upcoming season.

Clemons graduated from Sachse High School and spent his freshman season at Cisco as a redshirt. He has emerged as a legitimate 6’6”, 241 pound, scary athletic talent who can play defensive end or outside linebacker. An unfair comparison, to all involved but to serve the purpose, for Clemons in the 2017 class would be UCLA four-star commit Jaelan Phillips. Both are rangy, strong, and quick. Clemons, like Phillips, is fast, for any size, running a reported 4.53 in the 40-yard dash and has posted a 4.08 shuttle.

The 'cool' indicator beside teams of interest is funny on 247.

Like the player listed his offers and 247 was like 'cool. cool. cool. cool. cool.'

I think they would take him. Don't know why they would offer him at this stage if they weren't willing to take him.

I think they are very interested. I think he's up there with Butler, Webb and the other guys they are still in for it.

He's a May graduate, but three years to play three.

He's big and he can run from the tape I've seen. The only issue is that he redshirted last year, wasn't able to play his last two years of high school so he hasn't played in a game in a long time. I think he's probably a little raw from that standpoint. But, he has the tools, at least from what I've seen, to be a good player.

Wants to concentrate on the season, see what offers come in and then go from there. Since he's not a December guy he doesn't have to rush.

It's a damn shame... Saw Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band about nine times now, six with the Big Man on the sax, three with his nephew. He was electric every time he played that sax.

Seems I read somewhere that Clarence played some semi-pro football.. I have no idea if it's true or not.. Didn't Springsteen sometimes refer to him as the enforcer?

He did. He played in college and tried out for an NFL team and tore his knee up in practice.

I can't like this post more than once, but I am a huge Springsteen fan. I have never seen him live, but I sure do love me some Clarence Clemons. I am sure that he was terrific in person.

First concert I went to I was 11 it was the reunion tour, I saw him on the river tour in Louisville and will see him again in September. I have seen pearl jam, Kings of Leon, Black Keys, and Bruce is blowing these guys out of the water and he is 30-40 years older. Three hour marathon shows you can't beat it.

Hasn't played in three years AND NOT an EE? How many marijuanas has Butch had?

However many it took to read this;

6’6”, 241 pound running a reported 4.53 in the 40-yard dash and has posted a 4.08 shuttle

Our top receiver last year was out of football flipping burgers for a couple of years? Crazier things have happened if Clemons proves to be a player.
