South Carolina wide receiver Shi Smith was here today and really impressed from what I'm told. He was clocked running a 4.4.

He told me he really likes Tennessee following this visit (it was his first time on campus) and he will be back in the fall for a game or two. Seemed pretty excited about everything.

“it was nice,” said smith, who’s ranked by 247sports as the nation’s no. 196 overall prospect and no. 21 athlete in the 2017 class.

“i liked the indoor facility. They’ve got the restaurant down there, and i liked the meeting room.”

“they told me, if i come there, i’d get the ball a lot and i’d have a lot of touchdowns,” said smith, who claims to have been timed at 4.4 seconds in the 40-yard dash during friday’s camp.

“(jones) just said he likes that i’m quick, fast. … pretty much every route, (azzanni) told me my feet were quick and stuff.”

Hmmmmmm the guy looked like he was around this height so it might have been. I didn't gawk/ stalk as much as I should have :cray:

Not a VFL. VFLs give uncomfortable stares to anything resembling a prospective athlete.

Tennessee seemed to make a strong impression on Smith as well, as he plans to get to know Mark Elder, his area recruiter, even more now.

"When they offered it really came out of nowhere but after visiting here we're really going to build a relationship. Every time he calls this is going to make me want to pick up every time," Smith said.

"My coach is a Tennessee fan and he had been telling me a lot about it and he told me it was nice and he was telling me the truth," Smith said. In particular, Smith said the Neyland-Thompson Sports Center along with the Anderson Training Center. "I liked the facilities and everything," Smith said. "I liked the restaurant in the the facility and the meeting rooms."

"I love that they call it Wide Receiver U and I know about all the wide receivers they've put in the first round," Smith said. Smith next has camps scheduled at N.C. State and Clemson and wants to visit Tennessee again for the Oklahoma game.

Bump. I know he recently committed to USCe but when I was looking at tigernet they feel like the Vols might be on this kids mind since they took Tee, ultimately killing his chances of being a tiger.
