'17 TN ATH Jacoby Stevens (LSU commit)

A) Mahoney is god-awful. How he's employed at Tennessee is beyond me.

B) Anyone can make a username and say anything they want. Kids should consider that there are without a doubt Georgia, Florida, Bama, etc. fans on here posing as Vol fans to bring negativity in all forms. I'd mod this board a little heavier than it is, like many sites do, but that's Freak's decision.

And this!! ^^^^

1. Parents hopefully realize that what is said on message boards is pure speculation and a lot of negativity comes from other school's fans posting on here... it is done on ALL sites...

2. de1conley, I appreciate a lot of the info and insight you bring to the table by working so closely with these athletes, but several folks on here are right, don't chastise peeps on here and then in the same paragraph speak negatively about two coaches on the staff... you said families and kids read the boards, so what will they take from your post if they read you think Mahoney and Azzani are awful?

Bingo. He can't criticize posters here when he has said plenty of egregious things

1st and foremost show me where i have said anything negative other than an evaluation or personal information from a coach or person in the recruiting ofc.

Look the same thing i said here i spoke the same sentiments to CBJ. The difference is kids know the same and its why a Max Wray will commit to UGA and Pittman. Mahoney is the weakest link. For instance we went to practice and a recruit says geez DeBorg is basically the OL coach in meetings and practice so why should I commit to Mahoney when I know he's not my real position coach. Guys what you have to understand is reachingfor a rebuttal is silly. What I sayhere I can bk up. I'm not boasting or bragging. Whether Jacoby goes to UT or NMSU that's his decision. Buck nor myself would sway him any certain way. Regardless of whom he picks his family isn't taking cash but looking out for their son. He has great parents who run a tight ship and have raised a damn good young man/athlete.

Not at all, he is definitely feeling them-- like a huge amount of recruits-- at the moment, but I believe the upcoming season is going to cause the breaks to be at least lightly tapped for UGA.

nothing about this coming year is going to slow anything regarding recruits "feeling" UGA.. in fact it will only improve. the longer this new staff has to develop relationships the better the response will be from those recruits. also it's year 1 and kirby isn't selling what he is doing year 1. cks is selling a vision he has for the program and the team that is resonating with a lot of players. kirby is one of the best recruiters in the nation and he hired a staff who will put forth the effort he wants as well to recruit. this new staff has really impressed with what they have done so far and it's just the beginning.

De1 I agree with most of what you are saying here. I've said a few times on here that whether we think what is said on this or any message board should affect a recruits decision, that's irrelevant. What matters is what the recruit and there family think about it.

With that said, I hope when you get calls or comments from parents and kids about ignorant message board posts, you let them know not to pay attention to them. They truly are meaningless, When you have a fan base the size of UT's, there are gonna be more than a few that have crazy ideas and comments. All teams have their share of these type fans.

At the end of the day, what someone like me says on an internet message board shouldn't have a bearing on what school a recruit chooses. I understand that it sometimes does, right or wrong, I would just hope that you and others in positions similar to your's would be the voice of reason in those situations.

While yet we do suggest they stay away they'll continue to do as they please. Reading msg boards are a thing of today's society and they want to see what's said. Some take it personal, other laugh and move on and call it ignorance. I'm just letting all who know it does affect some situations.

I thought he was a GA lock??

He likes them right now. People know how recruiting goes. 1 day its us, the next its them. Just be patient and trust that the coaches will make the right judgments of talent and get some too tier talent that will launch UT back to the top.

I don't agree with 99.999% of anything you say, but this I can agree with to an extent. Although CBJ had head coaching experience when he came to Tennessee, he was selling the same thing Smart is selling at UGA, and that is the future and his vision. At some point, and for CBJ, that time is now, you have to back up that vision with some production on the field.

Jones has been selling his vision for three years now, and that alone has been enough to this point. But at some point, it becomes time to put up or shut up. For Jones, that time is now. For CKS, it's probably 2017 or 18 given that UGA was nowhere near the damaged product Tennessee was when Jones took over.

A lot of those bashing Smart are the same ones who cheered Jones' vision, slogans, and gimmicks in his infancy at Tennessee. Kirby Smart might be Derek Dooley 2.0, but he might be something much better too. We just don't know, and right now, he is doing a fine job (whether we as Tennessee fans want to admit it or not) at promoting the Georgia program and brand, and selling his vision. His shtick isn't all that different than Jones' was, but he may not have the leniency from the UGA fanbase that Jones has had from UT fans. Smart doesn't have to win the East in year one, but he better show improvement in year two or the honeymoon period will be over. Ask Will Muschamp.

can't disagree with anything you said above.. 100% correct.

I honestly think posters should think what if this was my child before posting slander, dumb comments, or rumors.

Love the insight you bring to the board and the work NPA does to build local kids up to be good football players and even better men. Can't fault an organization run by VFL's who are finding success in life.

What you mention above though is a common misconception that many make around here.. And it's that those who post those things are actually in fact children themselves.

So to recruits and their families who frequent this site:

Consider the source! I wouldn't be bothered but what strangers are spewing around let alone a bunch of hacks hiding behind anonymous screen names!

I'm here to clarify all the stupid rumors of dislike among the staff and our organization. 1. We owe no school in particular anything. 2. We do not steer kids in any direction. 3. Our organization has help UT more than any of you on this board offering criticism. 4. If anyone questions our reputation or who we will help or where the vast majority of our top recruits hv gone think: Eric Gordon, James Stone, Tiny Richardson, Jalen Reaves-Maybin, Josh Malone, Mike Sawyers, Justin Martin, Vincent Perry, Jack Jones, Kyle Phillips, we helped with Barnett, Richmond, and Jashon. So don't ever question our background with UT. 5. Its on the coaches and the families to make a bond and make decisions on where a player goes and plays. 5. You can put this on record many of the recruits we train and their family read the ignorance some of you are posting about the kids and us, whch is why I am here tonight. Some of you social media, mesaage board no it alls should really chill. Today's fan is really ridiculous and don't realize hiw ignorant you are. You insult people you have no knowledge of and make assumptions about families/kids you don't know and it hurts the coaches/school you claim to love. The fools hv done it already with 1 major recruit and are headed that wa again. Take heed to what I say because its all 100% truth.

Thanks, someone made it seem like you had publicly came on here saying that, and I was shocked. Thanks for setting record straight. Sorry some spread bad rumors :hi:

Have I missed it? I've not seen one critical post about this kid. I've seen poster claim he doesn't appear to have a legitimate interest in the Vols. How is that critical?

Talking about all recruits in general. Not just one specific recruit.

UGA is not starting over from zero. We had no 5 stars littered on our team. We had zero team speed. The situations are totally different. UGA will be the same. Mel Tucker is not Saban. Smart is not Saban. UGA will crash and burn. They will be lookin for a new coach in a few years.

This...... Funny thing is the UGA fans think they know what they have in Smart. Heck you don't know if he can even call a defense. Saban is always hands on with his defenses.

It's funny that all these Georgia fans are coming out of the woodwork to talk trash now. Where were all of you seven months ago? Must be groundhog day for UGA fans.

Anyway, not even gonna participate in this back and forth past this one post, which is to make sure you know how obnoxious I'm going to be when we whip that ass in Athens this season. Better hold on to your sphincters.

Regardless of what Georgia fans say, this is not a rebuilding year for them. Their scheme on offense and defense remain in tact and they never had a drop off in recruiting. Smart was hired because the boosters and alumni feel he can do a better job This Year.

We'll see.
