'17 TN OL/DT Trey Smith (UT commit 12/6/2016)

traveled around a bit. not everyone has the same advantages. flipside. not everyone takes advantage of what they have. bottom line. there are folks everywhere. not just in East TN that dont utilize proper English. And, some well educated folks i call on that say this same thing. Although, ill give it does seem to be used in East TN frequently.

I new i should have say seened him cents it was past tense.😃

Why the incredulity there UEM? All new guys are awesome. And the higher ranked they are, the awesomerestish they are. It's science.

Yep, can't wait for Smith to struggle for a couple of games early in his UT career and all the VN "gurus" start looking at the next highly rated OT from Mongolia that UT is recruiting and their "come on down Big Mo, you'll be starter day one, Tre Smith is a 5 star bust, and we need you desperately" comments.

How many stars does this Mongolian have that you speak of?

PR nightmare

Big tme PR nightmare. There's a difference in being a drunk thats rehabilitated and a HC who let any and everything go. It really didn't surprise me as Baylor had the same problem in basketball a few yrs before. I spoke to Lache Seastrunk, before all this when he was with the Titans, who told me stories and I was like WOW!!!!! So it was onky a matter of time and boom here it is.

Maybe they can disguise him as Richmond, and have him play LT for the second half.

Poor Drew. I'm confident he'll pan out, but it ain't looking good right now.

When I talked to a friend in the recruiting ofc i was told Trey will be a OG not a OT if/when he commits to UT

I can not imagine that a 6'5" tackle rated as one of the top tackles in the country doesn't get a look at tackle when he arrives on campus.

You give everyone who is a possibility a look at tackle. Then you move them inside if it doesn't work out. Tackles are so much harder to find than interior guys.

How do lower echelon teams even field a 5-man OL? Serious question.

Do they recruit guys who are 6'6" 230 lbs with long wingspans and then just beef them up over 3-4 years before they can finally play? Or are they all essentially playing guards at tackle?

I've just heard Hubbs talk about that over the years. You give everyone a look at tackle first then move them to guard because you are always searching for tackles. They are hard to find and highly coveted.

Lower echelon teams have tackles that get beat when they play upper echelon teams. In other words, they look like our O line in 2014.

I guess it is possible he moves in, but Trey sure looks OT in the highlights. Real athlete with nice footwork for a guy that size.
