'17 TN OL/DT Trey Smith (UT commit 12/6/2016)

Saw Trey yesterday. To avoid being a nag, i simply gave him a "Trey Smith, Go Vols!"

His family ate it up. They were beaming. Seemed to be having a blast.

I wonder if Trey is going to be one of those CBJ has waiting until signing day to announce his decision for UT. Make it a special day for him.

Butch told him last night to wait a few weeks till we spot 27 to Bama like we did two years ago, then whip them 45-0 in the second half.

We just need to turn on tv start of the 3rd qt :)

It would be hilarious if fans started piling in at halftime.

Bump. 247 just posted an article about Smith raving about his visit. Anyone have access to what he said?

“I was in Neyland yesterday, and when they started turning it around against Florida, it's just a feeling like no other,” Smith told “Tennessee Prep Weekly” in an interview that will air in its entirety later this week.

“Imagine about 100,000 people — and a couple thousand outside the stadium — just screaming at the top of their lungs. You can hardly hear. Your ears are ringing, and it feels like there’s an electric current in the stadium. It’s indescribable.”

“My dad and I have evaluated a couple schools,” Smith told the radio show. “We actually had a sheet, and we marked on a system of 10 the coaching staff — what’s our relationship with them? — the success in that program, the overall feel of the program. We didn’t really do the game-day atmosphere, the emotional things. But we sort of just sat down and evaluated each and every program in my top six, and the programs that stood out, we’re just going to take official visits to them.

“For instance, next week we’re going to Ole Miss for an official visit (for its game against) Memphis. We just sort of evaluate each school. We really look in-depth for what each program has to offer. So from there we’re going to take officials, and from there I’m ultimately making my decision.”

Sounds like a bright kid. He'll succeed wherever he goes, and you have to love our chances.

I have hacked his phone, and obtained a copy of "the list." Here it is, verbatim.

1. Is the team in question, "dem Vols"? If yes, commit to Tennessee, if no, continue to question 2.

2. Return to question one and proceed until the answer is "yes".
