Dormady clone. Can run if he has too, but looks to chunk it downfield. Great arm on him. Since I like him as a prospect so much he'll be committing to Alabama or USC any minute now.

Tony, did you just refer to Texas as "UT?" If so, this is a ban-worthy offense.

"Hey Buddy, I think I think I know who the real UT is and if this was the one in Texas I would know the diff...? It was the one in Texas...just like I said. Thanks."

the 6-foot-2, 185-pound white, who’s the younger brother of arizona state quarterback brady white, said he also likes what he has seen and heard about tennessee, including what he has been told by former vols quarterback joshua dobbs.

“i actually got to pick at josh dobbs’ brain and talk his ear a little bit at this same camp that i was at last year,” white said this week during his stay at jordan palmer’s qb summit. “i worked out with the college guys last year because my brother was working out with them, so i came down and he was there, so i got to talk to josh a lot and we worked out together.

“i asked him a lot about tennessee, because i’ve always been interested in tennessee and kind of what it has to offer, and kind of the different lifestyle it brings to a southern california kid. I would say what he told me — the fan base and just the overall atmosphere of tennessee — was really what drew me there.”

white said he’s “real excited to go check out tennessee” with his family sometime between april 15-23 after talking frequently with first-year vols quarterbacks coach mike canales over the past several weeks.

“i heard it’s a wonderful place to be,” white said. “i mean, probably the biggest thing that i’ve seen, from watching josh and watching all the games on tv, is probably just how much they ask of their quarterback. Any football program is going to obviously ask a lot of the quarterback. I mean, it's the most important position.

“but josh is an athlete. You saw him run the ball and just the tough grit that he had to get the extra yards when he needed it, or standing in the pocket and take a hit. Just kind of the overall gamer he was, i really kind of saw myself fitting in that role.

“and talking to coach canales, and him being new there, all the character traits that he’s looking for fit with me that i think would be really compatible — just somebody who’s tough and can stand in the sec. And i’m not the biggest guy, but just the fact that coach canales believes in me and believes in my abilities, that really says something.”

“i definitely can see myself ending up at tennessee if i like the visit and i like the atmosphere there and i like knoxville. And, obviously, you know how i feel about the football program. I think the world of the football program and the school.”

tennessee might be one of several east coast schools white visits while he’s on the road next month. He said he’s “going to visit probably auburn, with chip lindsey being there as the new offensive coordinator,” and he might make stops at georgia, north carolina, harvard and boston college.

He admitted “the visits will be big” since he’s hoping to decide on a college by this summer.

There are certainly worse times to come to East Tennessee than third week of April. If one is ever to fall in love with the area, late April and mid October are the times.

Meanwhile, early next week Tennessee will host another Cali quarterback, as Brevin White will visit Monday and Tuesday. White seems to be a little lower on the board than others, but there’s still legit mutual interest here.

Is he also visiting others on this trip?

Found this free scout article from 10 days ago outlining his spring visits...

http://www.scout.com/college/footba...23-four-star-qb-set-for-acc-sec-pac-12-visits

White will start Spring Break next week and will visit several schools from all over the country. "I'll be at Oregon State on the 13th and Oregon on the 14th," White said. "Coach Brennan was the one who offered me and when he went to San Jose State, I stopped hearing from them for a while. I've been back in touch with them again and I talk a lot with Coach McGiven, the OC and QB Coach so I'm really excited to get out there and visit the campus.

"Oregon hasn't offered yet, we're just trying to build that relationship a little and see where that goes. From there, I'll fly out to Tennessee and spend two days there. I have daily contact with them and I'm pumped for this trip. I've never been before but I have great respect for their tradition and program. My dad really wanted to visit with Brady when he was being recruited but they never took that visit so we're both exited to meet the coaches and see the campus."
White will head home for a few days and then jump back on a plane to head to the East Coast.

"I'm going to visit Harvard and Boston College April 19-20," White said. "With Harvard, I think they were a little surprised that I had interest and wanted to visit. I told them I did and I really am looking forward to getting out there and visiting. It's the Ivy League and obviously different from the other schools recruiting me but you never know, it could be the best fit for me."

"I would say the schools I talk with the most are WSU, Tennessee, Oregon State and ASU. I'm still planning to make a commitment sometime over the summer. I'm really looking forward to having my decision behind me so I can focus on my season. I want to be able to start bonding with my future teammates and just knowing where I'm going to be for the next 4-5 years is going to be a big relief for me."

new had a good chat with quarterback brevin white today as he wrapped up his 2-day visit to tennessee.

Will have full story tomorrow, but white and his dad definitely enjoyed themselves. They got the full tour, took in several team meetings, had 1-on-1 time with players, etc.

He's visiting harvard tomorrow and then after an elite 11 camp in charlotte next month he'll see north carolina and memphis. He recently had a nice visit at oregon state. Right now, seems like the beavers, arizona state and tennessee are sticking out. Canales will go see white throw on april 28.

A couple sample quotes...

On visit:

"it was a very special visit. Getting to come here with my dad, we were both very impressed. Obviously, they have the greatest fanbase, arguably the greatest fanbase in college football. Getting to see that was very special. The facilities, all the little extra stuff. It was awesome to see. They’re top of the line. The indoor. The weight room. Just going through the everyday life of what it’s like to be a student (there) it was very impressive."

on canales:

“he (could be) my coach for the next 4-5 years, so you want to have a special bond and i feel like we’re on our way to that.”

Rivals had a post up about Brevin White. Does any one have access to check to see if there is a little more information about him?

“I don’t know how a player can not be excited about a visit to Tennessee or a school in the SEC,” said White, who’s ranked the nation’s No. 238 overall prospect and No. 9 pro-style quarterback in the 247Sports Composite for the 2018 class. “I was really, really looking forward to that visit from the get-go, since we booked it.

“I had high expectations, and honestly I think it broke those expectations that I had for the university. … They were already up there with kind of the reputation and the kind of program that they are. But, yeah, this trip definitely helped seal that deal, kind of.

“Obviously, looking at previous years and Josh Dobbs specifically being their guy, he’s a great quarterback. He can throw the ball real well, but he also ran real well. … So, obviously, you need to be adjustable in that system and be able to fit kind of what they’re looking for, and they see that in me.”

“I think Tennessee will be up there, for sure,” White said.
